The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is almost here… Early Access kicks off a week from today! I put together a guide on the sale and you can find more tips on shopping the sale in this post. I picked up this outfit and this outfit at the sale last year, but I figured I’d share some of the best finds I’ve gotten during the sale over the last few years. (I’ve been shopping the sale for YEARS. I still remember staying up until 2:30am on summer break to shop the sale while I was in college. It’s seriously the best! Christmas in July, if you will.) I’m not going to lie though, it can be super overwhelming. I always try to have a bit of a plan for the sale, so I thought it might be helpful to let you know where my head is at when I’m shopping! I’ll also be sharing my favorite picks next week when the sale kicks off.

If you’re new to shopping the sale, you should definitely read this post and this post! I’ve broken down what makes the Anniversary Sale such a must, but cliff notes version — it’s all *new* merchandise that starts off marked down before prices go up to regular retail when the sale is over. Every other sale I know of is always marked down merchandise that’s been on the site or in store for a while, but this is the opposite. A lot of the sale merchandise has a fall focus, which can be hard to wrap your mind around in July, I’ll admit. But it honestly makes sense to save the money now when you know you’ll need it in a few months! Plus, there’s always a lot of wear-now-wear-later things that I tend to flock to.

So mark your calendars now… Early Access is July 12-19, 2018, but the sale is open to everyone July 20 through August 5th. Prices go back up to regular retail on August 6th!

1. Leather Jackets

I guess I should say outerwear in general! I know, I know, summer just started. But the Anniversary Sale is *always* where I pick up at least one new outerwear piece for fall and winter. Especially if you live somewhere like Chicago or New York, your jacket game has to be strong. And I’m always glad that I’ve got a pretty new one on hand when the temperatures drop down… Something to look forward to, you know? Last year, I picked up this gorgeous green leather jacket and wore it countless times. (You can see it on the blog here and here!)

Leather jackets are a must for transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall and winter to spring. And they’re great for layering, too. When I spent a month in Europe last fall, I didn’t want to pack a bulky jacket, so I packed two leather moto jackets that were perfect for traveling. I could wear them with a light blouse if it was warmer, or layer them over a cozy turtleneck for chilly mornings, too. A good quality leather jacket is surprisingly warm!

2. Barbour Jacket

Without fail, there’s almost always at least one or two Barbour jackets in the sale! As you might know, the classic styles rarely ever go on sale so if you need one, definitely keep your eyes peeled. 3. Designer Jeans

Designer jeans are a MUST-SHOP with the Anniversary Sale! Rag & Bone, Frame, Paige, AG, Current/Elliot… All of the best!

4. Designer Sunglasses

I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES when I saw a pair of the coveted Dior So Real sunglasses in the sale last year! And they were this amazing green color that matched my new leather jacket perfectly. Still one of my favorite pairs of sunglasses! You can see how I’ve worn them on the blog here, here, and here. Naturally, they sold out on the first day of Early Access last year, but I’ll be keeping my eyes out when the sale starts and I’ll be sure to share!

5. Nike Sneakers

6. Blazers

There’s a REALLY CUTE J.Crew houndstooth blazer in the catalog! (It looks pretty similar to this one I have!) There are a few great investment blazers in the catalog by Veronica Beard, Vince, etc. I also got this tweed blazer in the sale last year that I still have and wear!

7. Splurge-Worthy Blow Dryer

8. Suede Boots

I absolutely live in suede boots in the fall and winter! All day, everyday. Booties, over-the-knee, you name it. You can dress them up, dress them down, and they go with literally everything. I got this cashmere wrap at Nordstrom a few years ago and I’ve LIVED IN IT every fall and winter since. I freaked out for you guys when I saw an identical one in the catalog this year… You’ll definitely want to bookmark this style number! 5338466
