I got a tiny taste of fall when I was in Amsterdam a few weeks ago. Up until that point, I’d been pretty much in denial that summer would ever end, but the crisp breeze made me remember how much I actually do enjoy sweater weather. While I’m definitely not ready for sweaters and boots just yet, we had a tiny taste of fall here in Chicago and I happily broke out my new leather jacket.
In terms of getting dressed each day, it’s a weird in-between time for me. All of the new things I’ve purchased are mainly for fall and I feel pretty bored with my summer dresses. It’s all about those transition pieces, I suppose. For example, a sleeveless blouse that is great on it’s own now when it’s 90 degrees, but will also work layered under a leather jacket this fall! (This blouse I’m wearing is only $48, FYI! Such a steal.)
Up until now, I’d never had a real leather jacket. I designed a bronze and a black jacket in the softest faux leather last fall, and I still wear those jackets over and over. But a black leather jacket isn’t something I would wear enough to invest in, if that makes sense. So when I saw this green leather jacket, I was kind of hesitant to even try it on because I knew there was a good chance it was coming home with me. The fit was perfect so I just couldn’t say no! Green is my favorite color to wear, especially in the fall, and I love how it goes with absolutely everything. I actually scooped it up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale so I got it for such a great price!
I rounded up a few more leather jackets at Nordstrom that are an investment, but not too insanely priced… Most of these come in a few colors, too!
