Lately, both my gingham and scalloped clothing collections have been growing at a rapid rate. There are just so many cute gingham pieces right now, and an influx of scalloped hems, too. I can’t get enough! Can’t stop, won’t stop. In my opinion, there are a few thing that you can never have enough of: stripes, gingham, monograms, bows, and scallops. Maybe don’t wear your entire collection of well-placed bows all at once, but you get my drift, right? Never can get enough!
When I wrote my blog bio back in 2010 it included the self-proclaimed phrase “gingham shirt collector,” I kid you not. My love for gingham shirts has been a long one, but I’m always on the lookout for new fits, fabrics, and silhouettes. I ordered this gingham shirt online simply because I needed a new blue gingham shirt. I didn’t really put much thought into it… It was a good price point and said it had a feminine silhouette. (And it’s Nordstrom so I figured free shipping and I could easily return it if it didn’t work out! Nothing to lose.) But oh my gosh, YOU GUYS! This might be my favorite gingham shirt… ever. And that’s saying a lot!
The crinkled fabric is absolutely amazing because it doesn’t show wrinkles. (I’m beginning to think I’m slightly obsessive about wrinkles.. 😳) I have a hard time with a lot of button-up shirts because of my shoulders being a bit more broad than my frame, but the fit was perfect! Absolutely perfect. And OMG, the best part: THE SLEEVES! You can’t even tell this from the pictures online (or maybe I didn’t pay close enough attention), but the sleeves are actually 3/4 length. hello best friend! You don’t even realize it until you have it on, but it makes sleeve rolling SO MUCH EASIER! If you’re a chronic sleeve-roller like myself and have often imagined a world where that extra few inches was already chopped off so you didn’t have to fuss with your sleeves all day, your (/our) wishes have been granted. Game changer, my friends. I’m not that familiar with the brand, but you best believe I’m going to do some investigating!
After how much I used my navy blue crossbody last summer (#alldayerryday), I knew I wanted to grab another crossbody in a different color to switch it up a bit this summer. I love my Gucci bag so much that I would gladly purchase a second color, but you know, budgeting. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect crossbody for the last few months and I FINALLY FOUND IT! This Kate Spade bag is *too* perfect. I was wandering through Nordstrom scoping out the bags and couldn’t say no to this bow-tied beauty. The best part? It’s like two bags in one!

The strap completely comes off so you can use it as a clutch, too. I have so many crossbody bags that I’ve tried to use as a clutch and just tucked the strap in (example here), but it always looks just as it is — a crossbody with the strap tucked in. This Kate Spade crossbody/clutch is just genius! I love how the leather is textured, too, so it won’t show wear and tear as quickly, which is great news because I plan to use this, like, every day this summer. The coral color pairs so perfectly with all of my blue and white outfits! It also comes in black, mint, white, and pink, too. Trying to practice some self control and not order another one, but I *really* want to! (Real talk, though: If I were to get a second color, which one should I get?!)
Let’s talk scallops for a second… I’ve long been a fan of scallops, but I’m loving the influx of these perfectly preppy details this season! A few scalloped pieces I’ve got my eyes on: these scalloped sandals (under $65!), this $25 scalloped tee, this navy tank with scalloped shoulders, these scalloped heels (so perfect for wedding season.. not too tall!), these scalloped flats under $50, this layered scalloped tank top, this scalloped tank under $40 (I have the coral color.. Outfit post coming next week!), and this bikini set (top + bottoms) that looks so much like the one we always see on Instagram, but for only $60! Oh, and this navy scalloped dress under $50 is pretty perfect, too!
I talked all about my gingham obsession a few weeks back, but I figured I’d share some of my current favorites at Nordstrom… All with an affordable price tag! Most of the time when you see gingham print, it’s on the more casual side, but this gingham dress is so perfect for summer weddings! I’m also loving this short-sleeved gingham button-front shirt and this sweet gingham dress tied with a bow belt.
