Friday Finds: No. 173

Top Chicago blogger Jessica Sturdy of Bows & Sequins wearing a fall outfit by the Chicago riverfront bridges. Jessica is wearing a black duster cardigan and slouchy suede cognac boots.

Ummm… Where did September go?!? It feels like my birthday was last weekend and here a month has gone by. On the personal front, the only really notable things this past month were getting sick and spending ~4 days in bed and then recovering in time to travel to Kansas City to visit a few of our best friends. We originally planned the trip when we thought the Bears would have a decent season, but we still had the *best* time even though the football game was an embarrassment!

We had fun tailgating and it was cool to see Arrowhead… Made me realize the perks of moving the Bears’ stadium out to Arlington Heights. Our friends also showed us the best time around the city! You can check this IG Highlight for recommendations.

This weekend, Dave and I are celebrating our 3rd Anniversary in the city tonight and getting dinner with friends in the suburbs tomorrow night. Outside of watching football on Sunday, we’ll mainly be doing some fall projects around the house and finishing up our Halloween decorating!

Hope you have a good one! xo

Things to Read, Watch, & Listen to

The Swifties have entered the NFL Chat! My friend Kate’s podcast this week is all about it. (Also — I made a big NFL roundup here!)

Dave and I went to the Kansas City Plaza Art Fair when we were visiting last weekend and it was even better than I was anticipating. There were artists from all over the US, not just KC! If you’re in the market for art, we bought two pieces from Igor Menaker.

This Odesza live set playlist has been on repeat while I’ve been working lately. Soooo good!

On the subject of music, I saw Jai Wolf’s Blue Babu show when he was in Chicago earlier this month and it was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend going if he’s in your area!

Things to Shop

Stoney Clover‘s latest Fall drop happened this morning and ooooomg is it cute! Emerald and sapphire plaid perfection and little scallops are the cherry on top. This pouch is adorable!

I bought this Aspen candle and immediately ordered three more once it arrived. Not only does it match a lot of our decor (green is our accent color), but it smells DIVINE! Could not recommend more. Will make for a great hostess gift this holiday season!!

Jayson Home’s Vintage Market opened last week and there are still sooo many one-of-a-kind pieces available. I’m obsessed with this brass bamboo coffee table. 😍 On the less pricey front, check out this vintage crock or this antique landscape painting. There are lots of great statement furniture pieces, too, if you’re on the hunt!

I’ve done a little bit of fall shopping lately and wanted to share three things I’ve absolutely LOVED! This brown plaid skirt (currently 30% off!), this denim skirt, and these chocolate brown suede boots (use code JSTURDY20 for 20% off!)

I bought this wide-leg set for a fall travel outfit and I’m obsessed! So many compliments wearing it both to and from Kansas City last weekend.

J.Crew released a coffee table book!! It’s going to be on the top of my Christmas list.

My favorites from the Target x Rowing Blazers collection.

Three pairs of shoes on my current wish list… These chocolate brown croc loafers, these light blue flats, and these suede booties. (Again, my code JSTURDY20 takes 20% off the entire site!)

I got this cardigan a few weeks ago and I couldn’t love it more! PS: it washes so well, I was very impressed. Machine washed on delicate and hung to dry.

Did I buy Marley seasonal dog treats? I have to admit I did. 😂

How cute is this affordable plaid sleeping bag? Dave and I keep joking about how we want to do a camping night on our rooftop.

I bought a leather belt this time last year in Italy and this one looks just like it!

Things to Cook

I can’t remember if I’ve shared this yet or not, but I made this Dairy-Free Pesto recipe a few weeks ago and it was SO SO SO GOOD!

Our friends made us Chicken Pad Thai from scratch when we were visiting them last weekend and IT WAS DELICIOUS. This is the recipe he follows! I can’t wait for Dave to try his hand at making it.

Dave just got The Flavor Bible after flipping through it at our friends’ place. If you’re into cooking, I have a feeling you might like it, too!
