Friday Finds: No. 169

Chicago fashion blogger Jessica Sturdy wearing a quilted red jacket, bright blue sweater, and a beanie for a Cubs game in April. Paired with a bag that looks like Bottega Veneta, Golden Goose Running Sole sneakers, and ivory cat eye sunglasses.

Hi friends! Hope you had a wonderful week. Ours was pretty low-key, which was actually quite nice after traveling the last two weeks. It felt like this week flew by though! And it feels like spring is maybe here to stay?! The 10-day forecast in Chicago looks glorious.

We don’t have much planned this weekend except watching the Masters and going to brunch with friends on Sunday! We’re going to a neighborhood favorite, Coda di Volpe. Not only is their food great, but they’re pretty accommodating with kiddos! (And we’ll have four at our table… 🌪️)

Hope you have a great weekend and soak up some sunshine!

Things to Read, Watch, & Listen to

After loving Full Swing on Netflix, we finally started Formula 1’s Drive to Survive. So late to the game, but it’s really good!

I watched the last few episodes of Daisy Jones and the Six with Dave and thought it was pretty good! I’ve heard it’s slow to get into… Dave wasn’t sold after the first few episodes, but it gets better.

My friend Julia is writing a cookbook!

Things to Know

I just found out Soul Cycle is now on ClassPass!! It’s significantly cheaper to book classes through ClassPass, too. 🤯 You can use my referral link for free ClassPass Credits, which will get you at least two free Soul Cycle classes.

Don’t sleep on Starbucks’ new drink… The Cinnamon Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew is fantastic! (For what it’s worth, I get mine with fewer pumps of syrup than it typically comes with.)

For my Chicago peeps… Rae Does Beauty is doing a spray tan happy hour to celebrate the gorgeous summer-like weather heading our way this week! At their Lincoln Park studio on Monday 4/10 and Tuesday 4/11, get $40 full-body tans with Brittany or Anela. Simply write Happy Hour in the booking notes to secure your spot and special pricing.

Things to Shop

My friend Kate (from the Be There in Five podcast!) just released the title of the book she’s been working on. You can pre-order One in a Millenial here!

How cute (and fun and unexpected!) is this glass candy jar?!

I saw this iridescent sequin caftan on Merritt and was instantly smitten! (See her video here.) It’s soooo far out of my budget, even with the current 25% off, but man oh man is it stunning. One of those standout pieces to have in your closet for the rest of time!

I am OBSESSED with this pretty tweed blazer for spring!!! Truly in love.

If you need to freshen things up for spring, Boll & Branch is having their annual spring sale! Save 20% with code SPRING20. (And if you haven’t tried their dreamy sheets, you can read this post for my review. They honestly get better with every wash!)

I adore this preppy sweater for spring!

A TON of you had recommended this gadget when I had asked for pet hair hacks. I finally bought it and used it this week… OH MY GOSH. I run the vacuum over our couch pretty frequently (when Dave has Marley out for a walk because she loses her sh*t with the vacuum 🙃) and it got SO MUCH dust and hair off of our couch. I was equally disgusted and impressed! So much dust, too… I almost think it would be great for those without pets, too.

I shared these adorable LAKE pajamas a few weeks ago and am fully aware of how pricey they are, so when I saw Old Navy has the sweetest spring prints in their pajamas (with updated fits!), I had to share. PS: Take 40% off your entire order this weekend — no code necessary!

I saw this hoodie in person this week and it’s like a highlighter, I love it! (Mango Dream 🧡) Plus, it’s their scuba material that’s 💯.

Things to Cook

Dave tried a bunch of new recipes this week, but the most notable one was based on a dish from our favorite meal in Beaver Creek last week: Pretzel-Crusted Pork Chops with an Orange-Mustard Sauce. So delish!

On Wednesday, he made latkes and homemade matzo ball soup from this cookbook. I believe the latkes were pretty straightforward from the book, but I know he had to completely rework the soup recipe. It ended up being the best matzo ball soup I’ve ever had though! Maybe one day I’ll have him share the recipe here.

Don’t forget to make a Cadbury Coffee or try your hand at Cadbury Croissants this weekend!
