Friday Finds: No. 168

Fashion blogger wearing an Apparis Faux Fur Coat, leopard sweater, white velvet jeans, and cognac cowboy boots for a cute apres ski outfit in a mountain town.

Hello from 30,000 feet! I think this is the first time I’ve had trips on back-to-back weekends since… 2019?! Maybe even 2018, as I didn’t travel as much in 2019 after being gone for Remote Year at the end of 2018.

We’re heading to the mountains for a little ‘ski trip’ spring break! I’m actually not skiing, but I’m all about a change of scenery. I typically find that I’m most productive and inspired when I’m in a different place by myself. While I am traveling with Dave, he’ll be on the mountain all day for five days, so I’ll have at least three or four days to myself to work solo. (If you’ve been following along on my two-people-working-from-home journey for the last ten months, you get it. 🤪)

One of Dave’s brothers and his wife will be overlapping with us for a day or two, so we’ll get some nice quality time with family, too! We were bummed to leave Marley this morning, but we’ve already received multiple videos and know that she’s in fabulous hands with our friends.

Hope you have a great weekend! Can you believe it’s the last one in March?!

xx jess

Things to Read, Watch, & Listen to

I started this book this week and it’s pretty eye-opening so far… This Naked Mind: Control Alcohol, Find Freedom, Discover Happiness, and Change Your Life

Soberchella: Booze-Free Bars Are Coming to the Famous Desert Music Festival

Just ordered this book… The Kingdom of Prep: The Inside Story of the Rise and (Near) Fall of J.Crew

Succession is back on Sunday, people!!

Things to Shop

Very interested in trying these Recess Zero Proof mocktails! Added the sampler pack to my Amazon cart to order once we’re back in town. You can order flavors individually, too… Lime Margarita, Grapefruit Paloma, Watermelon Mojito, and Ginger Lime Mule.

I bought this cardigan about a month ago and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worn it… In Miami, in Colorado, home in Chicago… It’s proven to be versatile in every climate! 100% cotton, too, so there’s no itch. FYI – I sized up to a large so I can wear it fully buttoned.

I ordered this pair of underwear on Amazon and they’re a pretty good dupe for Cosabella thongs!

Still obsessed with these sneakers in the sandstone knit color!

A bunch of things I favorited on Shopbop this week… These wide-leg jeans (size down!), this pareo under $75, and this open-knit striped sweater set.

My friend Julia launched a beautiful four-piece collection with a new-to-me brand today!

We desperately need more seating in our living room for indoor entertaining… I’m majorly lusting over a boucle chair for the corner in between our big windows. Totally different vibes, but I love this structural one and this one that swivels.

A fabulously fun collection of colorful pajamas and poolwear!

Wow wow wow — how beautiful is this dress for attending a spring event or wedding?! Poppy and navy are both gorgeous.

Serena & Lily extended their Spring Sale! 20% off everything on the site. We’re ordering two of these sconces (brass base, white shade, single arm) for our bedroom to put between our headboard and nightstands.

I had the Riviera Counter Stools for years and loved them so much! I was recently recommending them to a girlfriend because they’d be great for a family with kids. So easy to wipe clean and virtually indestructible! I had the navy and white pattern, but ended up selling them because I didn’t have a counter at my last apartment. Out current condo has stools that are paint matched to our cabinets so we definitely aren’t in the market, but someday I’d love to have the Balboa Counter Stools, the Riviera Stools in White, or even the Sunwashed Rattan Stools. Putting some more Serena & Lily home decor and entertaining favorites in the slider below…

Obsessed with this seersucker set! (Comes with all three pieces! Done and done.)

Things to Cook

We kept it simple on the cooking front this week… Chicken Milanese (a staple for us!) on Monday night and Tuesday night we made Dave’s Mom’s Linguini with Clams. It’s my favorite thing that Dave makes! It’s unbelievably delicious and makes for fabulous leftovers, IMO. We were at the Bulls game on Wednesday night and had linguini leftovers on Thursday!

Speaking of cooking… This cookbook is on my list! An Everlasting Meal Cookbook: Recipes for Leftovers A-Z Dave works in the food waste space (sells enterprise software that helps CPG manufacturers mitigate waste) and it’s made me much more aware of how much food gets thrown away. I actually want to start composting at home this summer! More on that to come.
