Friday Finds || Vol. 3, Week 40

Travel and fashion writer Bows & Sequins wearing a vintage white fur coat, H&M black suede skirt, and Steve Madden sock booties with a Polene leather satchel and Le Specs matte aviators in London.

Happy, happy Friday! Wow, this week was one of those weeks that just kind of got away from me, which is never a great feeling. I had lofty hopes of getting ALL OF THE THINGS done this week because I have three upcoming trips in October, but I still have a to-do list that’s a mile long and so many things that I wanted to accomplish, but didn’t. Hopefully I can manage to chip away at my list over the next few days!

On a more positive note, this week was also very exciting! One of my best friends from college had a healthy baby, and we have the baby shower (and gender reveal!) for another one of my college besties tomorrow, too. So there’s lots to celebrate!

And then on Saturday night, we’re so-very-sadly having a going away party for one of my girlfriends here in Chicago who’s moving to Nashville. So bummed to see her leave, but I know it will be one fun sendoff.

Have a great weekend, friends! Enjoy the crisp fall weather. 🍂

Here are this week’s finds…

I got my handy-dandy Rabbit wine opener as a housewarming gift in May of 2011 (when I moved into my first adult apartment post-college) and it finally broke on me last night. That guy moved to NYC with me, through all three apartments there, and back to Chicago where it definitely got some mileage put on it over the last 4+ years. It was kind of a sad day, haha! But I gotta get a new one, as they really are the best ever! Putting it on my Christmas list this year since I technically have another corkscrew that I can use in the meantime.

One of my all-time favorite footwear brands is doing their Friends & Family sale right now and I’m having the hardest time narrowing down which booties I want to order for fall/winter. You truly can’t beat Marc Fisher in terms of price and quality… Their shoes are always so on-trend and look 3x as expensive as they are! And they really do last, I’ve had multiple pairs for years and they’re still going strong. I’ve already gotten this pair (in black croc) and this pair (in black leather) for the upcoming season, and I have this pair (in taupe suede) and this pair (in black leather) from previous years, but I really do need a pair of brown booties for fall outfits that I’m planning. Do you like the Jarli or the Ragon better?! I’m also obsessed with these white mulesย and I’ve had my eyes on this leopard pairย and this brown croc pair forever. I also have these sneakers in grey (last seen on the blog here), and I LOVE how they updated them in leopard.

Oh, and PS! I find Marc Fisher to run true to size, even in boots. I’m a size 8.5 and sometimes have to size up to a 9 in other boot brands, but not these. Get your regular size from sandals to sneakers to boots!

The Lively Show came back this week! While it’s definitely a lot different and way on the woo woo scale, I’m really digging it.

OBSESSED with these bow earrings!

I still have a set of C.Wonder dinner and salad plates from back in 2012 and anytime I post about them, I get so many questions and can never find something similar. UNTIL NOW! How cute are these plates?!

I just got this sweater in the mail this week and I LOVE IT! Cannot wait to wear for winter concerts… Business in the front, party in the back.

I still haven’t pulled the trigger on my ‘birthday sneakers‘ yet, but I just found this Tretorn pair that’s actually sort of similar!! (And for a fifth of the price!)

If you’re in Chicago on October 19th, this “sweat crawl” looks pretty fun!

Majorly lusting over this bag for fall!

I have this hat in olive, but I’m digging it in navy, too!
