Friday Finds || Vol. 2, Week 17

Jessica Sturdy Japan Travel Guide -- Matcha Soft Serve Ice Cream in front of Cherry Blossom Trees with Blue Skies near Mt Fuji

Happy Friday! I’m writing today’s post from Kyoto… We moved from Tokyo to Kyoto earlier this week and head to Osaka this Sunday. And then I’m homeward bound next week! I feel like a broken record, but I’m still fighting this nasty cold / sinus infection and cannot wait to get home and to a familiar doctor once I’m stateside. I’ve still been enjoying the trip, but to be honest, the past week and a half has felt like a month, at least. I haven’t been able to hear out of my left ear for the last 11 days and it’s definitely wearing on me, mentally more so than physically. Every time I talk, chew, swallow, or even move my mouth, it’s as if an empty plastic water bottle is being squeezed in my ear… You know what I mean? It’s just so annoying. It’s as if I’m now immune to the Japanese OTC medications I’ve been taking, so not much really helps to alleviate the sinus pressure. Ugh, not trying to complain, just trying to keep it real. I’m so glad I’ve been to Japan once before so these aren’t my only memories from this beautiful country! It really has been a fun trip though, sickness aside. When we got to Kyoto on Wednesday this week, we stayed in a traditional Japanese ryokan, which we didn’t do last time around. It was such a cool experience! I’ll definitely be sharing more soon. Hope you have a great weekend, friends. Here are this week’s finds…

I’ve been posting a TON of outfits exclusively in the LikeToKnowIt app. If don’t have it downloaded, you can still see and shop them all right here!

OMG — Couldn’t order this striped dress fast enough!! This eyelet dress also made it into my cart.

I am so, so, SO interested in seeing a Tibetan healer after reading this post. If you happen to know of any recommendations in the Chicago area, PLEASE let me know!

Trying acupuncture is at the top of my list once I get back stateside. I’m curious, have you done it?!

Similarly, I do get cupping done fairly regularly. (Read more about it here!) My massage therapist does it on my back after our sessions!

Lusting over Gucci’s new red, white, and blue bags… This pouch, this backpack, and this crossbody are fab!

On a related note, my Gucci Princetown slides are probably my favorite shoes that I own. (See them here!) They are so comfortable and require absolutely zero break-n time. I’m currently lusting over this pair!

I desperately need to implement these beauty organization tips when I get back!

Orbiting is the New Ghosting … Wow, if this didn’t strike an all-too-familiar chord!

If you’re in Chicago, this personal branding workshop looks AWESOME. I wish I was in town for it!

Wishing I could afford this $1800 sweatshirt. 😂

And on that note, I’ll leave you with this Vanity Fair article… It’s a LONG read, but it’s beyond fascinating. The Fake Heiress

    May I offer my two cents? I lost hearing almost completely after I caught an infection about two years ago and I had to see a specialist. In addition to meds, she suggested I pop my ears at least 3x a day to relieve the pressure. It’s hard at first, but it works! Hold your nose and blow. Hope you feel better!

      AHH! Really?! It feels as if I’m going to rupture my ear drum every time I blow my nose, I’m so scared to actually try and pop them…

        Yasss, that’s exactly how it’s going to feel. If you aren’t able to at first, keep trying. Eventually I got it. And once you pop them you’ll be very surprised but it feels amazing. I guess…proceed with caution?! lol

    I hope you feel better soon! I totally know that feeling you are talking about (I’m currently experiencing it right now). Sometimes a nice long hot shower temporarily helps! Happy Friday,
