Friday Finds: Vol. 5, No. 8

Happy Friday, friends! Writing this post snuggled up in a blanket at my desk, as it finally feels like it’s supposed to in Chicago in November. We’ve had the most glorious fall in Chicago this year… It’s truly felt like a season, instead of just a week or two. While the weather has been beautiful, my body doesn’t quite know what to think. My allergies have been all over the place, and I woke up with a little bit of a cold on Tuesday. Totally minor, though, thankfully! We made a big batch of this soup, which always helps!

Outside of the sniffles, I also had to have some dental work done on Monday, which is never fun! I had an old filling (that had to have been from high school or before) from one of my back molars fall/break out over Halloween weekend, so I ended up having to get a crown. I’m currently in my temporary crown for the next two weeks before I get my permanent one placed right before Thanksgiving. Thankfully, it hasn’t been too painful yet, but there’s a 50/50 chance I might need a root canal before then, so fingers crossed it stays that way.

After celebrating a few birthdays last weekend, both a three-year-old and a 40-year-old, I’m excited to not have too many plans on the calendar this weekend. We’re having a mini Friendsgiving on Saturday and then I’m grabbing brunch with a girlfriend on Sunday before the typical day of rest watching football on the couch!

Hope you have a great weekend! xo jess

My holiday gift guides will be launching next week, but I’ve been sharing a Gift of the Day over on Instagram. Saving them all to a highlight here so you can reference later!

It’s almost time to break out the fun, festive jewelry! I love kitschy holiday jewelry because it’s so easy to pair with a simple sweater for a more low-key holiday party.

I finally got my hands on this sherpa belt bag (it keeps selling out so quickly!) and it’s everything I wanted and more. I wear mine crossbody for running errands, walking the dog, etc.

This Advent calendar for dogs is just the cutest.

Speaking of dogs… I always have Marley in a bandana from The Foggy Dog and I love that you can now get them at one of my favorite local boutiques in Chicago!

And speaking of Chicago… I got to check out the newest speakeasy bar last week! The Four Seasons turned one of their suites on the 46th floor into a travel-themed speakeasy (Mile High Cocktail Club) and it’s such a fun experience with great city views. You can book reservations on Tock (I don’t believe they take any walk-ins) and I think it would be a great spot to take any family or friends visiting this holiday season! Or, if you aren’t local to Chicago and are visiting this winter. ๐Ÿ™‚ You can see a few pics here!

While it sadly doesn’t really fit with our place, I found this affordable cane bed and had to share! I’m obsessed.

Two Amazon fashion finds that I’ve been wearing non-stop… This vest and these sneakers!

The nail art trend I’m currently obsessed with…ย ✨So fun for the holidays!

PS: You can shop what I’m wearing in the photo above rightย here!
