Pleated skirts are everywhere this fall and I’m so glad I hung on to this one I picked up last year! I styled it on the blog last October with a sequin bomber jacket and pulled it out of my closet again to wear to an event at the Ritz a few weeks ago. This time, I still went with a monochromatic look, but paired it with a thin turtleneck and my new lucite-heeled sock booties.
I always joke that Steve Jobs is my style icon… When the temperatures drop into the 60’s and below, you can almost always find me in a black turtleneck of some sort. When I saw this ribbed turtleneck bodysuit, I knew it would be perfect to pair with all of my high-waisted skirts and jeans for months to come.
For accessories, I went with two of my French favorites! I picked up this pearl-studded belt at Claudie Pierlot when I was in Paris in May and I love how it breaks up the black-on-black look a little bit. My Polène bag has quickly become my go-to this fall… It’s the perfect sized satchel, I love the shape, and the top-handle is super on-trend this season, too!
Whenever I’m asked to describe my style, I never really know what to say. I always dress to my mood, which naturally changes quite often. Sometimes what I’m wearing is super feminine, sometimes it’s pretty preppy, sometimes it’s a little more edgy, sometimes it’s overtly colorful, and sometimes it’s a little bit extra. And sometimes just kind of basic, too.
But I actually think this outfit sums up my style philosophy fairly well… I tend to keep it classic and mix in a few of-the-moment pieces to give my outfit a little twist.
I always love to hear how people answer this question… How would you describe your style?! Let me know in the comments below!

I think I’d describe my style as comfortably classic — ideally, I get dressed in things I’d be comfortable (both physically comfortable and mentally comfortable, ha) in all day, but also classic. My general rule? Get dressed every day so that if somebody took a picture of me and showed it to me in 10 years, I wouldn’t cringe!
You’re looking so glam chic in this ladylike and elegant outfit. 🙂

Funny story. I have a skirt quite similar to that. It ended up getting wet because it dragged in the toilet.

I consider my style to be laid-back casual. Is that a thing? Classic mom, maybe? Lol. Things that cover. Things that stretch. And dark colors that hide goobery handprints.
I love everything about this outfit! I have never seen a color blocked pleated skirt like this before, it’s great!
