Color Crush: Blush Pink & Grey

As evidenced by my last few posts, I’m definitely having a moment with the combination of grey and blush pink! It’s that time of year where everything is just kind of grey, at least in Chicago anyways. Grey skies, grey streets and sidewalks from the slushy (/dirty) snow, and an overall mood that’s a bit lackluster waiting for spring to arrive.. You know?

This time of year, I always end up gravitating towards monochromatic looks consistinging of grey, black, and white. But as of late, it’s been a whole lot of grey, almost every single day. (See this post, this post, and this post.) Ever since I bought these jeans a few weeks ago, I’ve been wearing, and re-wearing, them constantly. And we all know I’ve been wearing this turtleneck on REPEAT all winter long. But to keep things from getting mundane, one of my favorite ways to freshen up these could-be-drab grey outfits is by adding a little pop of pink!

An all-grey outfit can look a bit more edgy than my usually pretty feminine take on personal style. But with a little bit of blush pink, it has a whole new, warmer feel! You’ll be seeing lots and lots of pink in stores this spring season. As an unabashed pink lover, I couldn’t be more excited about this! I know some people, however, aren’t as keen to wear such a feminine color. Meet the pink handbag!

I recently picked up this pink crossbody bag and I couldn’t love it more! It’s such a fun color, and will be the perfect complement for all of my spring and summer outfits. If you’re one to typically shy away from pink, try it in a small dose this spring. A handbag, or even a gauzy scarf, is such an easy way to inject some color into your wardrobe!

On the topic of this bag, though.. I actually ended up removing the fringe/tassels off of the two zippers (the two pieces of fringe that hang the longest) to make it a little bit more my style. I did love it the way it’s pictured here, but now it feels a little less boho and a bit more polished, which is a better match for the rest of my wardrobe.

I just got this bag and I’m obsessed! I didn’t really need another pink crossbody, but I couldn’t resist. I’m trying to hold back from ordering the larger version in black…but that might have to happen too. Looks like you had a great time in Pairs 🙂 Can’t wait to hear more about your trip!
