I just got back from Paris, my favorite city in the world, this afternoon and I honestly can’t even put into words how incredible the trip was. (But I’m working on it!) Hallie and I had an absolute blast, and personally, the trip was just what I needed to get out of this weird winter funk that I’ve been in! I’m putting together a fewย recaps, lots of recommendations, and some hilarious stories (well, the appropriate ones anyway ๐ ) from the five days we were there so be on the lookout for those posts in the coming days! For now, though, I (so thankfully!) returned back to some lovely spring-like weather in Chicago (66 degrees when we landed!) so I need to hurry and post all of the cold-weather looks that I’ve worn and haven’t yet posted this winter. It was in the low twenties when we left last week and it’s in the high fifties the rest of this week… Let’s hope it stays that way!
I wore this outfit last month on one beyond chilly day in Chicago. To be honest, the ripped jeans probably (/definitely) weren’t a good idea that day… I was freezing! It was one of those unbearably cold days where I would have still been cold in a ski suit, but unfortunately that look wouldn’t have really worked for meeting with a client. ๐ย I had a meeting downtown in the morning and instead of working from a cute coffee shop in the afternoon like I had planned, I was racing home to seek warmth at my desk. (And in a pair of sweatpants, let’s be honest!)
But when the temperature is above freezing, however, I love breaking out my pair of overly destroyed jeans… Even in the winter! I like how it’s a bit unexpected, and I especially liked how the white patches on the jeans brightened up the darker look of my black sweater and scarf.

I love those distressed jeans. I am so happy for you that you had a good time in Paris. I agree probably better to wear the jeans in warmer temps.
