Decor Inspo: Dining Nook

Jessica Sturdy of Bows & Sequins shares decor inspiration and decorating ideas for her small apartment dining nook. Parisian-inspired marble bistro table with rattan back chairs and black floating shelves.

Back with another apartment inspiration post today! I’m working on a few apartment projects IRL that I hope to share on here sometime in February. While I’ve got a ways to go, it’s felt so good to finally be crossing some little corners off my list as D-O-N-E.

The photo above is what I’m planning to order for my little dining area! I’ve been obsessed with these cane chairs forever, but I hadn’t found the perfect small bistro table to pair with them until CB2 released this marble top table. Together, they’re the perfect mix of materials to achieve the style I’m going for with this apartment…

California cool meets French atelier.

Think: laidback meets luxe, coastal meets character.

My main living area in my apartment has to be divided into three different spaces… My desk/office area, my living room, and my dining area. It’s one square space, so it’s taken a little bit of painters tape on the floor to plan out what furniture makes sense where. A sectional couch is going to work wonders for making the space feel more intentional!

I’m sure it’s hard to wrap your mind around without seeing the space, but my dining area will be behind the back of my left-arm sectional. Meaning, the back part of my sectional (the side that directly faces the TV) will share the same large wall as my table and chairs. Since there will be a larger piece of art above my couch, figuring out what to put above the table was kind of tricky. I’d love to hang a cool light fixture, but since I rent this apartment, messing with the electrical is a project I don’t feel like taking on. I’ve thought about some sort of hanging chandelier, but I don’t think it would look right with the space. And I’d love to do a little (plug-in) wall sconce action, but the wall space I’m working with isn’t wide enough. So I’m thinking some sort of floating shelf configuration might work best since I don’t need another mirror in the space and will have a gallery wall above the media console. I made a little floor plan so you can try to visualize it a bit better!

While I was playing around with different tables and chairs, I fell in love with the below vignette! The chairs are *chef’s kiss,* but unfortunately I just don’t have the space. Sharing in case it gives you any decorating inspiration though! Absolutely love it with this overhead light fixture, too!
