Friday Finds || Vol. 3, Week 22

Happy Friday, lovelies! Aren’t short weeks just the GD best?! A tiny bit insane as we’re fitting a week’s worth of work into four short days, but man — I couldn’t really get behind three-day weekends and four-day work weeks more often. I don’t know about you, but I’m actually in shock that tomorrow is JUNE! I don’t have any upcoming travel this month (save for a quick weekday work trip or two) and I couldn’t be more thrilled… These past few back-to-back travel weekends have taken it out of me.

Last night (Thursday night), I had to take a beat for myself. I had plans to see Grace + Becca while they were in town (they had a live show in Chicago this week!), but after I wrapped up a shoot around 5pm, I came home and just kind of froze. My apartment looked like it had been ransacked from shooting a bunch of outfits… I had a heaping pile of laundry next to the washing machine… I had a pile of sh*t in the middle of the floor that I had quite literally just dumped out of my suitcase when I got home this past Monday… Dishes in the sink… Seven handbags on my kitchen counter from switching things out on-the-go this week.. It was bad. I hadn’t seen my place that messy in well over a year! So I decided to put my phone face down, turn on some music, and just spend the next hour or two getting my shit together. And man oh man, it felt good. It’s pretty wild how affected I am by my surroundings… If my place is chaotic, my brain feels chaotic. It’s a direct correlation! After picking up, vacuuming, organizing, laundry, and dishes, I’m feeling so much more calm, cool, and collected. 🙌🏼

Even though I know the girls understand, I felt like such a bad friend not making time to hang, but sometimes you just have to prioritize your mental sanity first. So let this serve as a reminder if you need one this weekend… It’s okay to cancel plans and take some time for yourself! You’ll be better for it.

Enjoy the weekend, friends! See you back here on Monday. xoxo jrs

Here are this week’s finds…

I just found my long-sleeved striped crop top (shown above!) available and on sale! So cute with high-waisted shorts, skirts, and denim.

I am OBSESSED with this custom monogram / logo mania situation.

I’ve been wearing these sneakers on repeat this week! I just got them to replace my Stan Smiths and I already love them so much more… They’re unbelievably comfortable and run true-to-size! Plus, I feel like the style is so much more simple and clean.

I love the print of this bathing suit! So very Italian summer.

Navy animal print, say no more.

Couldn’t buy this Montauk tee fast enough!

Two of my favorite brands came together to make what’s sure to be the best beach towel ever.

How freaking funny is this doormat?!

Just got these ear huggies this week!

Brene Brown on what being sober has meant to her.

A guide to Washington, DC.

5 Signs That Stress is Affecting You More Than You Realize

How incredible is this Chicago condo?! The dining table & chairs, office, and gallery wall are all too good.

Lauren’s post about Nantucket had me feeling all of the nostalgia! I can’t believe it’s been almost two years since we were there for Mackenzie’s wedding.

Loved this read about finding what lights you up!

And a fun fact I learned this week: One cup of kale has more Vitamin C than an orange!
