Friday Finds || Vol. 2, Week 40

Happy Friday, my fellow internet friends! These weeks just keep flying by faster and faster… I truly don’t know where the time is going. I flew from Peru to Colombia this past Saturday and it’s been a whirlwind of a week trying to get settled in a new city. It was quite the long travel day getting here on Saturday, as it took about 13 hours door-to-door from Lima to Medellin due to a flight cancellation and another delay. I caught a mini stomach bug on Saturday night and was horizontal in my bed here in Medellin all day Sunday, and then jumped into the work week. I was bummed to not have that day to get my bearings straight in a new city, but I know my body needed the rest. It’s been go-go-go for the last few weeks!

We’ve got a fun weekend planned here, as we’re headed to Guatape tomorrow! Follow along on IG, it should be a pretty photogenic trip from what I hear. 🙂

Also! I’m taking over the @RemoteYear Instagram today (Friday) so be sure to watch their stories for what a day in the life of a remote looks like.

And one more thing! This is what I wrote last week for a Friday update and ran out of time to hit publish on… Would still love your feedback!

You guys, I can’t believe it’s my last day in Peru! This month has absolutely flown by. It kind of surreal to think about all of the things I’ve gotten to experience this past month… One one hand, the excited nerves as I was sitting at O’hare about to take off on this journey feel like a lifetime ago, and on the other hand, it feels like the month has gone by in the blink of an eye. Tomorrow we fly to Medellin, Colombia, where I’ll be living for the next four weeks. I’m working on so many different posts about my time here in Peru, but I’d love to learn more about what *you* want to read about. Things to do in Peru, My go-to spots in Lima, How to Pack, What I Was/Wasn’t Expecting… Any other ideas?! Feel free to shoot me a DM on Instagram, send me an email (hello (at) bowsandsequins (dot) com), or leave a comment below!

And here’s what’s been on my radar this week…

Yay for friends that make cool videos! Check out Dan’s video from our walk around the historical district in central Lima this past weekend. (And stay tuned because we also filmed a fun travel guide last week with some of my favorite spots in Lima!)

I am SO EFFING PUMPED for Blair’s new line at Nordstrom! omg. Get your wallets ready, ladies.

A good list of favorite podcasts to follow.

This month, 10% of footwear sales at Sezane (my favorite French brand!) will be donated to the Gustave Roussy Association, which supports breast cancer research.

Amy’s sister’s wedding looked like a dream!

J.Crew is having an EPIC sale this weekend — 40% off! Just in time for all of their new arrivals for fall that are tooooo good. This metallic puffer has my name allllllll over it. I’m absolutely in love with this dark green wool coat. And this mini satchel?! Stop it right now. Gonna need this turtleneck in every color, obviously. This blush pink slouchy sweater is a must. The cocoon coat has been one of my winter go-to’s for years. I’m *obsessed* with these shimmery slides. Or these booties if you’re feelin’ fancy! These red, white, and blue sneaks are too friggen cute. These casual slides are fun AF. I’ve been lusting over a blazer just like this one. And OMG, a pink velvet blazer? Sign me up. Need this striped turtleneck in every color. A few more favorites in the slider below…

This sparkly pant suit is literally what dreams are made of.

A few words about “hate following” that’s worth a read.

I have an obsession with all things alpaca after spending so much time in Peru. This striped sweater is on my wish list FOR SURE!

A super interesting read about the luggage company, Away, and influencer partnerships in general. (You can see my thoughts on the suitcase here!)

I searched HIGH AND LOW for a pink and white letter board for the gallery wall in my living room… Of course, now that I don’t have my apartment and am living out of a suitcase, I find it.

No one can make you feel inferior unless you let them.

I watched the Chef’s Table episode on Milk Bar a few weeks ago and OMG, I fell even more in love. (It’s my favorite bakery! I’ve been known to fly in their birthday cake for friends and my friends have now learned that their truffles are the quickest way to win me over.) I want all of Christina’s cookbooks! Adding it to my Christmas list. (Sorry, not trying to jump ahead to the holidays, but I just can’t really buy anything right now because of the whole living abroad thing, so Christmas listing (when I’ll be home next) is my default.

Also going to need this mindfulness coloring book… How cool!

Adidas with a tropical twist 🍍

Being unapologetically you is your superpower! A must read.

L-o-v-i-n-g this new collection of leopard print shoes from M.Gemi! The booties are my favorites though.

I would love to hear about how you’re faring with the language—is it hard to get around, to many people speak English (especially in the smaller towns)? And more about the food! I’ve heard people tend to get sick in S. America but you’ve made it seem like the found is beyond!
