We’re having a few days of premature spring weather here in Chicago and I couldn’t be more excited! Coming home to freezing cold temperatures after about a month of being in a summer state of mind was quite the contrast, so these 50-degree February days have been giving me life.
We all know the weather will yo-yo its way well into May so I always like to take advantage of these bare leg days when we’ve got ’em! A long coat paired with a suede skirt, over-the-knee boots, a turtleneck, and a furry bag still feels seasonally appropriate (it’s still technically winter, after all…), but makes me feel like I’ve got a little spring in my step at the same time. It’s all about the different lengths, layers, and textures!
And, hey — not wearing all black from head to toe feels like a little step toward spring, too! (Raise your hand if you’re in the same boat this time of year… 🙋🏼)
I picked up this long black drapey coat from the Les Petites Outlet store on Rue des Ecouffes when I was in Paris in September and it was one of my favorite pieces to wear this past fall! (I’m actually really surprised this is the first time it’s making an appearance on the blog… This is another Les Petites find from a different trip!)
