What to Wear in Amsterdam

We took a quick hop from London to Amsterdam yesterday and I’m so excited to experience one of my favorite cities in the springtime! I was last in Amsterdam this past August for a wedding, and we’re visiting those same friends for two nights this week to experience King’s Day. We’re headed back to London on Thursday and then I’ll be heading to Paris on Saturday for three nights! A super quick trip compared to my last few month-long adventures, but it’s relatively relaxed since I’ve been to each city at least once before.

I wore this outfit last time I was in Amsterdam (August 2016) and it was the perfect base for the up-and-down weather. (I had a sweater or jacket with me at all times!) Layers are a must when you’re in the Netherlands… One minute it’s sunny and the next you’re caught in a little rain shower. If you know Chicago’s weather, you know it can be similar… Especially when you’re out all day sightseeing, it’s best when you’re prepared for a few different elements.

If I’ve opted for a simple outfit of a tee shirt, jeans, and sneakers, I try to spice it up with a few accessories of some sort. A little bandana tied at the neck is perfect for adding a bit of personality to your outfit in a casual way!

Cute sneakers and a crossbody bag are also must-haves for me when I’m exploring a city! I like to keep my hands free for taking photos and I never want my shoe choice to hold me back.
