No matter the season, chambray is a must in my wardrobe. A casual way to dress down a statement piece, a neutral to balance out a busy print, the other half of the Canadian tuxedo, the ultimate layering piece… A chambray shirt’s versatility knows no limits!
Along the same lines of how I knew I needed a plaid shirt in my fall collection, I knew I wanted to incorporate chambray into the spring collection. When I think of my spring wardrobe, chambray is a must-have. But how to make it new and different? I wasn’t really sure at first.
During the warmer months, there’s nothing more uncomfortable that wearing tight-fitting long-sleeved shirts so I knew I wanted a lightweight, looser-fitting, short-sleeved chambray top. And there are few things that I love more than an unexpected detail in the back! So the deep-ish V with a criss-cross in the back came to life… I couldn’t love this shirt more than I do! I’ll be wearing it non-stop when the weather finally shapes up in Chicago.
Just a little note about sizing — this chambray top is generously cut! I’m wearing a XS so I’d recommend sizing down in this piece specifically.
