Weekend Round-Up + An Invite!

Happy Friday! Isn’t it crazy how the short weeks always feel like the longest? I never thought Friday would come. I was in Minneapolis for work earlier this week and have been busy running around Chicago ever since I got back. One exciting project that I’ve been working on over the last few weeks? Styling a runway show for Bloomingdale’s this Saturday!! It’s been such a fun process!

After attending NYFW for the last eight seasons, I decided to sit this one out. I decided I would rather go to New York for a weekend this fall when I can fully enjoy myself, and spend quality time with my friends and not be running around like crazy. A little bit of fomo, sure, but a lot of jomo (joy of missing out), too.

So in the spirit of fashion week and runway shows… If you’re in Chicago this weekend, definitely come out on Saturday afternoon, it should a good time! We’ll be celebrating Bloomingdale’s debut of several exciting brands and featuring must-have fall styles from coveted names like N Nicholas, IRO Jeans, Meteo by Yves Salomon and more.

Plus, I’m MC’ing the runway show so it should be solid entertainment, if nothing else. 😉 Wish me luck!

And now a few other things I enjoyed this week…

Aloe Vera Water…. Would you drink it?

Absolutely LOVING Alison Caye’s stunning West Village townhouse. When can I move in?!

One of my personal goals over the last few months is to say “no” to more work-related things. I thought this was an interesting read… The Many, Many, Many Things You Should Say “No” To At Work

7 Hobbies to Make You Smarter… Another one of my goals is to read more, and learning a new language (French!) is something that I plan to take up soon!

6 Healthy Relationship Habits That Most People Think Are Toxic I love pretty much anything Mark Manson writes. (If you haven’t read F*ck Yes or No, you must do so immediately.)

Apple Watch is partnering with Hermes?!?! Okay, sign me up.

I’ve been reading this book over the last few weeks and I can’t recommend it enough!

From the lessons I’ve picked up in the book, I’ve been more mindful of being kind and generous. I somehow stumbled upon this article and found it so interesting that the big takeaways were kindness and generosity. Masters of Love

I sound like a broken record, but another huge part of the book I’m reading is self love. I’m not usually a fan of Elite Daily articles, but I liked this one. 30 Ways to Learn to Love Yourself

I’ve long been a fan of Loeffler Randall so it’s not a wonder why I’m obsessed with the creative director, Jessie Randall’s, Brooklyn home in Park Slope. Check out her home tour here! It’s more modern in decor than I typically gravitate towards, but it’s just so bright and airy.

Olivia Palermo for Bauble Bar launches on September 29th … Can’t wait for this one!

If you’re trying to learn French, try out DuoLingo (it’s an app). They do a really good job of taking you through each part of the learning process (ie speaking, listening, writing and matching) so that you really become a master step by step. You set goals too so you’re held accountable! It’s helped me solidify my French before I head off to France for four months!
