I’m back in New York for a quick 48 hours this week (flying back to Chicago tomorrow afternoon for the Express event!) and it’s kind of surreal to be back. I’m staying at a hotel in my old neighborhood so it doesn’t really feel different in so many ways, but so much has changed in just a month. Storefronts have changed, bars and restaurants have closed, new places have popped up… all in a quick 30 days! I’m interested to see how I feel when I leave, that’s for sure. I’ll be honest, though, there were quite a few moments yesterday afternoon where I thought, “Nope, I definitely don’t miss it.”
What I always enjoy about New York, however, is wandering through the tree-lined streets of the West Village and I’ve built in a few hours to do that this afternoon with my old photographer and friend, Lydia. Yesterday’s agenda was a quick one — grabbed a smoothie at my favorite Juice Generation in Soho, got my hair freshened up at my old salon, stopped by Chobani for their new Feta & Watermelon concoction, and went to see the show An American in Paris with my friend Lauren. Loved the show, but oh man you guys — Times Square is always such a nightmare! I have a few exciting meetings today and tomorrow morning before I fly out on Thursday afternoon. In between meetings, I’m just trying to see how many of my favorite restaurants I can cross off my list! 🙂 Be sure to follow along on Instagram and Snapchat (my username is JessicaSturdy)!
