Over the last month or two, I’ve been spending a lot of my time not in NYC. #JetSetJess has had her pedal to the metal… And it’s been so much fun! I’m finally back in New York for a bit… 11 days… before I head home to Illinois for Mother’s Day. (I’m going to be home for about a week and I could not be more excited! I don’t really know why, but I’ve been pretty homesick lately and I’m more than ready to go home and do absolutely NOTHING. Except blog, of course.)
Since I’ve been gone so much lately, and have a lot of upcoming travel, too, I’ve been making it a point to get the most out of New York while I’m in town! (I’m currently working on another spring/summer bucket list for the year — stay tuned!)
Whether it’s stopping by a local farmers market, taking a call outdoors at a park (if there’s not some sort of band playing, crazy person screaming, or blaring construction noises — #lifeinNYC), walking home instead of taking the subway, or grabbing a bite to eat at a new-to-me restaurant, I am trying to soak up every little last bit of New York City. You never really know what’s next, ya know? There could be an opportunity in year or two (or heck, even in a few months) to move somewhere else and I want to be sure I’m taking advantage of this magical city while I can. So many of my friends have moved out of NYC recently and it’s kind of got me thinking, “What’s next?!” for me, but that’s a whole can of worms for a different day!
I’ve touched on my workouts a lot lately and I’ve been pretty good about staying on track! I mentioned this a few weeks ago, but it’s SO hard to get back on the bandwagon when you return from a trip. But I’ve been doing it! Working out is my biggest stress relief, and I’ve actually been finding that I’m craving a sweat sesh as soon as I touch down in New York after a weekend trip away. Plus, I think getting back into a structured routine helps me a lot mentally, too, when I return home!
I picked up a few pieces from Old Navy’s new #BuiltForPlay collection and they’ve proved to be perfect for my post-gym-explorations! Clothes that are super comfortable and great performance-wise for a workout, but clothes that also make a fun statement once you’ve left the gym. Or if you want to just wear the new collection of workout gear while you’re out running errands on the weekend without going to the gym, I won’t tell! I may or may not do that all the time. 😉

I don’t own a single pair of printed leggings (boring in black over here!) but these might add some extra pep in my step when I hit Bar Method or go for a run. I’m shocked that we move into May this week…I need to get to work on my spring/summer bucket list asap!
Love these pieces! The colors are too fun!

If you’re going to be moving away from the East Coast, you should check out Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket this summer. So much fun. Excited to see where your adventures take you!
Traveling a lot can be fun, but hard, too. It can be especially tricky with workouts…but you look so super cute in this fear I bet you’ll want to workout every chance you get. ; )
Safe trips and loom forward to following along!
