Anchors Aweigh

Sometimes you just need to get a little nauti…cal. 😉  No matter the season, I always love a good Americana ensemble, especially when there is a little nod to nautical. Can’t go wrong with Red, White, and Blue!

I recently received a comment from a reader saying that she wanted to see more outfits with me wearing flats. Don’t get me wrong, I do love a good pair of flats and I do wear them pretty often, but I really love that feeling that only a pair of high heels can give you. #Swagger (Plus, if you’ve ever taken an outfit photo, you’ll understand the love of high heels elongating your legs!)

Truth be told, I’ve got a bad cab habit in the winter. Whereas in the spring and summer months, I walk a lot in the city, which leads me to wearing flats much more often. Plus, most of my favorite summertime sandals are sans heel. But beyond that, let’s talk about outfit inspiration for a sec — If you like parts of an outfit, re-create the outfit and re-work the parts that don’t work for you! For instance, if you only wear flats, take a look at the shoes I’m wearing here and make some modifications. Since these are navy lace-up sandals, try a classic navy ballet flat. Or a perforated navy flat. Or a navy glitter loafer. Or a nude/gold sandal. Or a navy suede sneaker. Or a metallic boat shoe. Or a gold gladiator sandal. Or just a classic nude t-strap sandal. Options are endless! You can always leave a comment below asking for suggestions. 🙂
