I still can’t believe Thanksgiving is in 2 days. I’m staying in the city this year so maybe it’s the lack of travel that has me forgetting the holiday is just around the corner? Who knows. I’ve never been in New York for Thanksgiving and I’m actually looking forward to a quiet day of relaxation and catching up on life!
I’ll be doing a “Turkey Burn” SoulCycle class at 8am… a NINETY minute class. Most classes are 45 minutes so I’m technically doing a double all at once. I’ve done 2 classes in one day before, but with a few hours in between, so this should be interesting. Wish me luck! Oh, and since I’m actually a crazy person, I’m doing another one (yes, another 90 minute class) on Black Friday before working at the Capwell + Co. pop-up shop all day.
Post SoulCycle sweat sesh (and a shower), I want to try to scope out some of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I’ve watched it on TV every year that I can remember and I feel like it’s a kind of a bucket list thing to cross off. The route is seemingly pretty long… I’m thinking my best bet is to go farther uptown to get away from Herald Square (aka: Hell on Earth, especially during an event like this). If you’ve ever watched the parade in person before, your suggestions are very welcome!!
This outfit is definitely one that I would wear to my family’s Thanksgiving. Cute, casual, and cozy. For more Thanksgiving outfit inspirations, check out this feature on the Glitter Guide!

What a perfect Thanksgiving outfit! I love the colour tones. Also, I’m really glad you styled your jeans and booties the way you did. I’ve tried to pull off similar looks and wasn’t quite sure if they worked before. But seeing you do it confirms that I can do it too! Happy Thanksgiving!

I would totally rock this entire look! Love the shades of camel and tan. Plus that cozy scarf? LOVE.
Love this look, especially the scarf! I went to the parade when I was younger & we watched it from my parent’s friend’s office. It was great because we were warm, not in the crazy street & the balloons were at the level of the windows, I highly recommend it!

I’m in love with your outfit today. I’m in an finals/exam slump that thats the perfect cozy outfit to wear (except my hair wouldn’t look nearly as nice as yours; it’d be in a unintentionally messy bun). Also, I’m so envious of those cole haan booties! <3

Ahhh the coat!!! So happy to see it make an appearance (not happy that it’s cold enough for it to). Love!!
I ADORE this look! How did you make that huge scarf look so cute? I have a Zara scarf and I’m not sure I am going to keep it because its HUGE and I can’t figure out how to wear it!
Anyway – hope you have a fantastic Turkey Day! Good luck with the SoulCycle!!

Love the turkey day look! The “turkey burn” classes at soul cycle sound great! Im sure by now there are no bikes available… but I’m going to still look into it.
As for the parade…. for sure an item to cross off your list! I went with my sister the first year I moved here 7 years ago, and we watched at columbus circle… which was pretty cool. Get there early and you can go inside the mall there to the top floor and watch from the windows. Not sure if they still let you, but when we went we could sit right up to the window. The view was incredible! Even better since it was raining and freezing that year!
Have fun!!!
Any pics coming from Parade??
No, it was awful. All of the streets were closed so I couldn’t see anything. I would’ve had to have gotten there pretty early to get a good spot. Oh well, maybe next year!
Love love love this outfit!! Someone point me in the direction of where I can find this jacket!
Thanks Ang! Unfortunately I think the jacket is now sold out. 🙁
How did you make that scarf look so small?! I have the green one and it looks ginormous on me!
Please tell me your secret 🙂
Great question! I explained on my Instagram here –> http://instagram.com/p/hMx8mJwXBT/
Trick is to folding it like a bandana! Fold into a triangle to start, then loosely fold/roll it, and then when you go to wrap it, make sure the triangle is in front! I actually might try to do an Instagram video this afternoon since everyone is asking. 🙂
I am going to Boston, for the first time, in March and I am in love with this coat and the other black one you have posted and I was wondering where you got them! Even if they are sold out I’d still like to know. Thank you in advance 🙂
Hi Monica,
I always list where everything is from. Above, you will find that this coat is Calvin Klein. I purchased it from Nordstrom, which is where that link takes you.
Let me know if you have any other questions! Enjoy your trip to Boston, it’s a great city. 🙂
Monica,
I did an extensive search on this coat. I found it on Piperlime, and it was sold out. But the next day, I checked again, and they had back in stock in a size 4. I needed a zero or a two, so my coworker bought the 4 (she got it yesterday, and wore it today–GORGEOUS). I would keep checking Piperlime to see if they restock in your size. I also found it on Carson’s, Herbergers, Yonkers, and Boston Store. If you google “calvin klein asymmetrical wool coat with zipper,” it comes up on the google shopping tab.
I realize this is a year later but I wanted to say that I found the similar scarf for half the price http://www.serengeticatalog.com/ and look up tartan plaid scarf.
I absolutely love this outfit and your style in general it’s the epitome of chic and girly. You have inspired me to begin a blog. Thanks for being super original 🙂
