Even though summer isn’t technically over for a few more weeks, todayย usually marks a fresh start for a lotย of us. A new week, a new month, a new semester, a new season. When it comes to outfits over the next few weeks, I have a feeling Chicago will be jumping right into fall and skipping any chancesย of a lingering summer. However, I know a lot of you are based in climates where it will still be H-O-T for quite a few more weeks. It’s hard when you’re ready to transition to a new season, but the weather isn’t really cooperating. (I instantly think of New York in April… Just get warm already!) Whenever I’m in the fall mindset, but it still feels like the deadย of summer, I gravitate towardsย mixing olive green with some of my quintessential summer pieces, like this lace midi skirt.
Olive green has always been one of my favorite colors to wear. (I’m sure anyย blondes out there can relate!) Truth is, olive green looks good on everyone, not just blondes. And while it usually ends up in more fall/winter collections, you can definitely wear the color year round! It’s essentiallyย a neutral, just like navy.
When I wore this outfit to speak at theย Create & Cultivate conference in Chicago a few weeks ago, I kept joking that I looked like a zoo keeper. Or, Safari Chic, if you will. If only I would have had a leopard clutch to really give off the animal caretaker vibe! ๐

This tie-up blouse is adorable! I barely have any olive pieces in my closet, but it really does work with every hair color/skin tone. I love fall fashion, but I’m still not ready for fall weather. I’m a HUGE baby once it gets cold out!
I love the olive green. Literally just bought my first olive green top this wknd. (woo hoo LDW sales). P.S. what a huge thing to speak at Create & Cultivate! Congrats!
Love this combo! I blogged an olive top and white skirt today too! Love this look to transition to summer!

Preach on the crazy weather! DC’s going to be humid for the next month or so and while I’m not ready to bundle up, my puffer vest + light sweaters are calling my name : )
And you should definitely add a leopard print clutch. Or maybe a giraffe print to really walk on the wild side!
