Happy Monday! This last week has been an absolute blur of moving and festive fรชtes over Fourth of July weekend. Towards the end of last week, I wasn’t even sure what day it was. Typically, I cringe at the thought of Mondays after a holiday weekend, but I’m embracing today with open arms. I’m longing to get back into the swing of things and a normal routine! Oh, and all of my things get delivered sometime this morning from the moving company!! I’mย elatedย to actually have somewhere to sit down in my apartment andย to finally deflate my trusty air mattress.
Speaking of my apartment, I couldn’t be more thrilled! I’ve been pleasantly surprised with everything so far. Everyone in my building seems super friendly, the view from the rooftop is absolutely breathtaking, and I’m in love with my unit. The closet, you guys. It’s absolutely massive… I’m not even sure if I’ll be able to fill it! My new bathroom is about the same size as my entire kitchen in New York. I have a washer and dryer and even a bedroom door (!!). After living in Manhattan for three years, moving to the Midwest really makes you feel like you’re living large!
I’ll be sure to share updates over the next few weeks about decorating, exploring my new neighborhood, and getting back into the swing of things in Chicago! For now though, let’s chat about this outfit.
I ordered this skirt from Ann Taylor online and couldn’t have been happier with the purchase once it arrived! It looks and feels so much more expensive than it is. I’ve paired it with everything from a classic navy and white striped tee to a silky black tank. It’s so versatile — perfect for date night or a casual brunch on Sunday. If you’re accident prone like myself and the thought of all an all white lace skirt freaks you out, I also love this chambray and lace option!
Generally, I have a hard time with fuller length skirts. I have a short torso and long legsย so when I’m wearing a whole lot of material on the bottom, I tend to look kind of stumpy. My rule used to be that I had to wear heels if I was wearing a skirt below the knee, but since this one is long and layered, flat sandals were just fine!

I love your lace skirt it’s so cute and the sandals are so pretty.
I love a lace skirt. Glad to know that I’m not the only short torso, long leg girl out there that has those length issue. That is one of the reasons why I never wear rompers or jumpsuits.

Ann Taylor is killing it lately… they’ve had so many things I want, and now this skirt! It looks great on you.
And I completely hate you and your massive apartment.. I just prepared five bags of things to sell at Crossroads because there is just no room. JK, I don’t hate you, I miss you a TON already! xoxo

Love the skirt! As a shortie, I typically struggle with longer skirts, but I think your logic of it being a layered skirt could work for me! I’ll have to check this one out ๐
