Rachel Wannabe

Halloween came early this year. I don’t know if it’s because I was catching up on The Rachel Zoe Project last Tuesday or what, but this is what I put on last Wednesday morning. Could I try any harder to dress like Rachel Zoe? Debatable. I mean, I did have my Starbucks cup in my hand most of the morning. 🙂

I don’t know if you’ve been keeping up with Chicago weather or not, but there was 60 mph wind gusts and 25 ft waves in Lake Michigan last week. Hurricane style weather in Chicago, wtf. My morning was off to a rough start after falling down the back stairs to my apartment. It’s my own fault. Soaked wooden steps + crazy winds + maxi skirt + 4.5″ heels + hands full. Lucky for you, I’m not going to put up pictures of my severely bruised shin, ankle and foot. I don’t know if you’ve ever falled down the stairs before, but it kinda hurts. I couldn’t tell if I was legitimately hurt or not so I hobbled back upstairs, popped 4 Advil, didn’t even think of putting on flats or rainboots, and went on my not-so-merry way. I was wearing tights under my maxi for warmth and refused to look at my ankle region until I got home 12 hours later. I have a cankle and some nasty bruises, but I’m okay! So Not Zoe.

You might not be aware of what’s going on right now, but it’s kind of major. NIGHT-TIME INDOOR PICTURES THAT I DON’T DESPISE. (FYI- Two biggest pet peeves in life: 1. Night time pictures, 2. Indoor pictures.) I figured out the lighting mystery after dark in this old Lincoln Park apartment. We have amazing windows that let in a ton of natural light during the day, but again, the whole photographer timing/work thing. (I will make myself buy a tripod one of these days.) I figured out that if I leave the ceiling lights OFF, and have equal lighting on both sides of me, and use a flash from far away, the lighting CAN work. So get used to my apartment hallway, that’s all I’ve got to say. Say hello to my kitchen back there (Hi, Kitchen!), my bathroom on the right (Hola, Baño!), and the roommates’ bedrooms on the right (Hello Roommies!).

And we have ourselves another Bauble Bar obsession. Can we talk about this necklace? How unbelievably amazing is this piece? Can’t get over it. I’m going to let you think about how much you think this necklace costs for a second. Now keep reading and click on the link at the bottom of the page. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. And you might just be adding another necklace to your collection. Thank me later. 🙂

I wasn’t able to make it out on Saturday night for Halloween, but I was going to wear this and be Rachel if I did go out. We would need Joey to come do our hair to give us those beachy waves! 🙂
