The past two weeks were packed with plans… From a good friend’s wedding weekend with a black-tie celebration at Chicago’s Field Museum to the 4th of July’s many festivities, Dave’s birthday, a Cubs game, and a Girls’ Night Out. So much fun!! But I have to admit, I’m looking forward to a week of R&R and getting back on track with work and my health & fitness goals, too!
LA DoubleJ Roy Dress
- LA DoubleJ Dress (on sale!)
- Black Statement Earrings (only $13!)
- Marc Fisher Heels
- Green Sparkly Handbag ($30 and impressive quality!)
- Custom Phone Case
I wore this silk one-shoulder dress to a friend’s Black-Tie wedding at the Field Museum in Chicago and received so many compliments! It was a very hot and humid day in Chicago so this breezy caftan-like dress was a dream to wear because I didn’t have to worry about Spanx. I wore my hair up in a low bun because of said humidity and accessorized with simple heels and affordable accessories. I’m all about that high-low mix! PS: I found this dress on Rent the Runway, too.
Ulla Johnson Ruched Dress
- Ulla Johnson Livia Dress (TTS – wearing the Medium!)
- Tan Woven Knot Bag
- Low Slide Heels (true to size!)
- Custom Phone Case
I wore this dress out to dinner at Charlie Martin’s in Chicago (which is a cute little date-night spot in River North) before the wedding welcome party. This dress is very lightweight and breathable, which makes for a great summer wedding guest dress. You can find it here in a brighter teal pattern, too!
Pink Puff-Sleeve Top
- Puff-Sleeve Peplum Top (I took the Medium)
- Levi’s Dad Jeans (true to size!)
- White Leather Sandals (true to size!)
- White Woven Knot Bag
I wore this outfit for a fun girls’ night out! We started with drinks at Volo Wine Bar in my neighborhood and then went downtown for dinner at La Serre in the West Loop.
I’m *obsessed* with this peplum puff-sleeve top! You can’t really see them in my photos, but there are very subtle cut-outs on each side of the waist that give it a very flattering ruching-effect at the front. I’ve since bought it in both of the other colors: black and white! It’s a very breathable cotton-poplin fabric that’s machine-washable and perfect for summer. Best of all? It’s only $24.
Ralph Lauren Flag Sweater
- Ralph Lauren Flag Sweater (I have the Medium)
- AGOLDE Mara Horseshoe Jeans (on sale + true to size!)
- Schutz Gold Buckle Sandals (true to size + so comfortable!)
- Clare V Striped Bag
There’s nothing I love more than breaking out my Ralph Lauren flag sweater this time of year! It’s so hard to find in stock, as it sells out immediately every year. I tried both the Large and the Medium because I love an oversized fit, and went with the Medium. It’s perfectly cozy!
You can shop the iconic sweater in navy here and here. You can shop the sweater in ivory here and here. You can also find it in light blue here. And for less expensive options, try this one from Tuckernuck ($248) or this one from Hollister ($50).

- Gucci Crossbody
- Mesh Ballet Flats with Gems
For Dave’s birthday, I got us tickets to the Catalina Club at Wrigley Field, which was such a fun way to watch a game! Sadly, the Cubs lost that night, but we made the most of it. With the club seats, food and drink are included with your ticket. Doors open two hours before the first pitch and the bar stays open for 30 minutes after the game ends. The food was really good, too! There’s a grill outside on the private terrace where you can get ballpark food, but inside there was a buffet with great salads, salmon, steak, etc. You get a VIP entrance for the club seats and a private bathroom, too. Highly recommend for a special occasion! (Also, the seats are only sold as season tickets so you have to buy them on StubHub.)
For the Office
- Amazon Sweater Tank (true to size โ I have the Medium)
- Gap Trouser Shorts
- I bought these last summer, so the shorts linked above probably aren’t an exact match, but this pair from Tuckernuck looks almost identical.

- Tuckernuck Dress (true to size โ I have the Medium!)
- Amazon Sandals
- Clare V Raffia Bag
- Le Specs Sunglasses
AGOLDE Mara Barrel Jeans
