Friday Finds || Vol. 3, Week 49

Chicago fitness blogger wearing Calia by Carrie Underwood workout clothing on the Lakefront Running Trail with the Drake Hotel in the background talking about health and wellness over the holidays.

Happy Friday! Can’t believe we’re well into the swing of things with the holiday season… I don’t know about you, but since Thanksgiving was so late this year, it feels like we went from zero to holiday REAL FRIGGEN QUICK. Somehow Christmas is less than 20 days away, and we’ve only got about three weeks left in this decade… Pretty crazy, right?

If you, too, need to hear this… It’s okay to slow down a bit! (Something I’ve been trying to remind myself of a lot lately…) My calendar has been jam-packed, and there’s a whole lot more on the calendar the rest of the month. While it’s all such fun stuff and there’s nothing I love more than soaking up the (short) holiday season, it’s important to remember to take care of yourself at the same time.

Wednesday was a rough day for me in the anxiety/depression department… I felt off, I felt triggered, I felt on-edge, I felt exhausted, I couldn’t concentrate to save my life, I went to the wrong workout class (had my days mixed up 🙃), and I was really trying to get it together in the afternoon to get ready for my friend, Liz’s, holiday party. But as the hours got closer, the thought of socializing made me want to crawl under my desk… So I gave myself a break. I put my comfiest pajamas on, poured myself a glass of wine, and let myself work from bed the rest of the evening. Did I feel FOMO when I saw so many of my friends under one roof on Instagram? 100%. But if I’ve learned anything as I’ve gotten older, you have to listen to your body. Taking the night off did wonders for my state of mind, and I woke up feeling much better on Thursday morning.

So whatever you’ve got going on this weekend and the rest of the crazy busy holiday season, be gentle with yourself! Take a beat and listen to your body. You can consider this me giving you permission to say no once in a while!

Here are this week’s finds…

Spread Kindness, Spread Joy

OMFG I think my jaw was on the floor the entire time I was watching this Parisian home tour. DEAD. GOALS. THE END. BYE.

OH MY GOSH THESE BOOTS. They’re basically Chanel dupes under $200 and I am HERE. FOR. IT! Adding them to my Christmas wish list ASAP.

On a scale of 1-10, how badly do I need this sequin bomber jacket?! (It’s also available here!)

This post is gold. I co-sign Grace’s review of pretty much any beauty product I’ve tried that she’s reviewed (we must have similar skin types!) and this drugstore routine seems so legit. I haven’t tried any of the products she mentioned, but I want to get them all to test out myself!

THIS SEQUIN DRESS! If you’re looking for a NYE dress, look no further.

I loved this podcast episode with Gabby Bernstein!

If you need a luxe little gift under $35, don’t miss these! Mom, sisters, aunts, gma, SIL, MIL, cousins, friends… Everyone will love these.

Yep, going to NEED this navy beanie with the pom! Such a classic.

This popcorn turtleneck looks like something I would absolutely live in. I love it styled with jeans and the leopard sneakers!

These velvet clutches under $50 are perfect for the holiday season!

I’ve worn this chenille sweater three times since it came in the mail two weeks ago… It’s so soft!
