Happy Friday, my friends! I feel like I should update you a little bit after the post I wrote on Wednesday night. I woke up on Thursday and felt so. much. lighter. I had a much-needed “me day” and took some time for myself yesterday… I got a massage in the morning, worked from my favorite coffee shop all day, and went to a spin class with Arielle last night. I don’t really know what changed (because I had be doing a combination of all of those things for the last two weeks), but maybe I just needed to get it all out on paper. Maybe I just needed to come clean with how I was feeling, in a sense. (And thank you for allowing me to do that!) I just haven’t been feeling like myself the last two weeks, and I think trying to conceal it was like adding fuel to the fire. With the blog and Instagram,ย I constantly feel the pressure to be “on” and upbeat and peppy and happy and funny and inspirational, but I just wasn’t feeling it. I don’t want to speak too soon, but I think I’m getting closer to the other side of this funk. I’m keeping my schedule pretty light this weekend and will continue to take it easy and do the things that fill up my cup!
I hope you have a weekend that does the same for you! Love you, mean it. xoxo JRS
Here’s what I found this week…
5 Things To Love About Co-Working Spaces
So you all know that The Lively Show is my favorite podcast, yeah? Well Jess recently posted a link to her brother’s blog on Instagram and OMG, what a small world!! He’s a Remote Year citizen (meaning he’s completed his program, Kaizen) and he actually had the same program leader as I currently do. (Hi Jen!) I’ve absolutely loved pouring through all of his blog posts, pretty sure I’ve read them all at this point. I loved reading his initial thoughts on Lima and his Lima monthly recap, probably because I have so many similar sentiments. I read about Medellin, Bogota, and Mexico City with excited anticipation for all that’s to come this year. His “Miguelitos” post was another favorite, as was this post talking about transitioning back to ‘real life’ after Remote Year. I love his conversational writing style and I’m sure you will, too! (In a funny turn of events, I was talking to my manager about this blog that I found and turns out he is friends with Michael, haha! And I guess he is going to be in Mexico City while our group is there in December… So Michael, if you see this, Hi! Let’s grab a latte con leche almendras in CDMX!)
Well if this isn’t the most genius thing I’ve ever seen… SHEET PROTECTORS FOR SPRAY TANS! In this post all about my spray tan tips, I talked about my “spray tan sheets” and these folks made them chic AF and made a business out of it.
I just bought this bag at Zara (here in Medellin! 🙌🏼) and I can’t get over the price. It looks so much more expensive than it is! (If you need a cognac bag, this one is a great option well under $50, too!)
My friend’s book finally has a release date! Pre-order now and you’ll have it on November 6th. If you’ve got upcoming baby showers or newborn gifts, stock up on a few copies!
I need to make this 30-Minute Thai Peanut Ramen recipe ASAP!
This giant gingham bag has my name on it! I’m the queen of filling massive totes with all the things… Work stuff, exercise clothes, running errands, post office trips, you name it. Love the neutral brown color, which is kind of unexpected!
J.Crew New Arrivals… I can’t handle how much I want to shop at our OG right now! I’ve thought about just placing a big order to send to my mailbox in Chicago, but if something didn’t work, I’d miss the return window by the time I’m back to try things on. Such a friggen tease!! Shop for me, will ya? (Use code SAVEMORE to save up to 40% off!) BRB, buying this satin bow scrunchie in every color. You know I love my turtlenecks… This is the *perfect* everyday turtleneck. You’ll wear it for months on end! I realllllly want this blazer. Loving these blush velvet loafers. These are the perfect, classic leopard flat. This sweater is a MUST — love the sleeves! Cutest PJs. Joggers are God’s gift… I used to own, like, 5 pairs until my friends would conveniently wear them home and never give them back.
I have the old, non-wireless version of these headphones, but I just saw that the newest wireless pair has Alexa enabled! Technology, man… What will they think of next. (And they come in navy blue so I’m convinced that I need them… Right?)
This might just be my favorite outfit Mackenzie’s ever posted. LOVE!
Have you switched to natural deodorant?! Kat’s post is so informative and thorough.. I need to try her favorites. I tried to switch earlier this summer and it was terrible, but I need to try her two week phase-out and see if that helps.
Amy’s Formal Living Room is STUN-NING. #goals
Absolutely obsessed with Anna’s living room and navy couches, too!
I’ve wanted a plaid coat like this for ages.
Club Monaco coats are always so amazing! I’ve got my eyes on this un-belted black trench that’s on sale. Too good!
We all know I’m Clare V obsessed. Their new bags for fall… Lord help me practice control. This green bag has my name written allll over it!
This little bag is on my wish list, too!
How friggen cute is this dress?! (At Target!!)
This sweater (under $70!) is such a good basic for fall and winter. Now the question is… which one of the 3 colors is the one to order?!
I always love a good list of podcasts!
PS: Not to toot my own horn or anything, but this was the first week in *forever* that I’ve had a new post published M-F, just like the good ol’ days. Really hoping I can keep up this momentum and end the year on a high note! ๐
I’m so relieved to read you felt so much lighter!
