The Best Drugstore Moisturizer Under $30

It’s not every day that I find an affordable skincare product I love! Quite the opposite, really. But as I was packing for Remote Year in August, Olay asked me to try their Luminous Whip Moisturizer with SPF 25. Talk about good timing! I was in the midst of trying to figure out how to whittle down my beauty routine, which honestly was one of my biggest stressors when packing up for four months abroad. (You know I’m skincare obsessed so it was no easy feat!)

Olay Luminous Whip is a primer and moisturizer all in one and includes broad-spectrum sunscreen so it’s essentially three products in one jar! Such a space-saver, but it’s also saved me time when getting ready in the morning, too. (All about that life! Mornings have never been my strong suit.) And on the topic of saving, it’s under $30 so you really can’t beat it.

I used to mix a glow-enhancing product with my primer, so this moisturizer actually takes the place of four different products in my at-home skincare and makeup routine. I’ve always been of a fan of the dewy, luminous complexion look, and this moisturizer gives me that little bit of glow-y radiance without any shine or feeling greasy by the afternoon. The feel of the formula is amazing, too… It’s oil-free (so it won’t clog your pores!) and feels so light and airy both before you put it on and after. It’s quick to absorb and has a velvety soft finish!

No joke, I’ve already been on the lookout every time I’ve gone to a new drugstore here in Peru (I’ve seen a few Olay products, but not this exact Luminous Whip moisturizer yet!) and you bet I’ll be trying to figure out how to get another jar mule-d down to Latin America if I can’t find it before I run out.

The owner, Humberto, is so nice and has decorated the place impeccably. It’s in the perfect location, right in the heart of Miraflores, but it’s set back in a courtyard so it feels like a little oasis within the busy city.
