This read is on the longer side, but well worth it! How Fear Holds Us Back & How to Conquer Itย This paragraph really resonated with me…
Many women live their lives in one of two realities: One is caring way too much, and being afraid of what people think. Those who fall into this reality might be afraid to pursue the career they want, or to marry the person they want because their family wouldnโt approve. The other involves repression of true feelingsโpeople who consistently make the choice to hold their tongue. They end up not living the life they want and, over time, they become unkind to themselves and those closest to them. Both realities lead to resentment. As we stew in a sea of unmet potential, time and time again, we negate what we truly want. We never allow ourselves to ask for it, because somewhere along the way, we adopted the belief that we canโt have it.

When I ignore that relationship or am too busy for it, I can feel the difference. A restlessness begins to grow, and discontentment takes root. The difference is simple: working ON your business is building a game plan, creating a strategic future, & focusing energy towards main priorities.
Working IN your business is getting caught up in the day the day. The e-mails, the pointless conference calls, the things that can be delegated: tasks that are not essential to the growth of the business.
As Mark Zuckerberg, creator of Facebook ( no big deal? ) says: โI spend more of my time thinking about how to connect the world and serve our community better, but a lot of that time isnโt in our office or meeting with people or doing what youโd call real work. I take a lot of time just to read and think about things by myself. If you count the time Iโm in the office, itโs probably no more than 50 to 60 hours a week. But if you count all the time Iโm focused on our mission, thatโs basically my whole life.โ
