If there’s one ‘trend’ for fall that I can’t stop eyeing & buying, it’s lace. I was shopping a few weeks ago before NYFW and it’s probably safe to say that 80% of the things I bought were lace or had touches of lace throughout, this dress being one of them!
As usual, New York was pretty sweltering hot at the beginning of fashion week. It’s always so tough to figure out what to wear when you want to be wearing your new fall clothes, but the weather isn’t cooperating. So I figured incorporating a few fall trends (lace, for example) while staying seasonally appropriate was best! (On a bit of a side note, I saw multiple girls wearing coats during NYFW. Sure, their outfits were amazing, but like, we all know it’s 95 degrees outside and that you’ve got to be miserable if we are sweating in sleeveless dresses. 😂)
I ordered this dress online from Nordstrom and honestly expected the lace midriff section to show a bit more in person. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m pretty flat chested and have a short torso, but I really had to position myself for the lace detail to show in these photos. On the plus side, it feels way less ‘exposed’ and makes it easier to wear for everyday!
The front pleats almost make this dress look like a top & shorts or even a romper, but it’s a fit and flare dress, which just so happens to be my favorite style to wear! Oh, and another major plus — you can handwash at home. No dry cleaning necessary!
