I spent this past weekend on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina with some of my girlfriends and we had the best time! When Hallie and I boarded the plane from NYC on Thursday, I had no idea that we would be touching down in paradise a quick two hours later. Of course, I knew where we were headed, but it was my first time ever going to Hilton Head. After this past weekend, I know it definitely won’t be my last trip!
Grace, Caitlin, Hallie, and I stayed in a beautiful home right on the beach on Hilton Head Island! It was absolutely stunning — my entire NYC studio apartment could have fit in my bedroom in the house. Having space to breathe was such a welcome luxury. I hung up my shirts and dresses in the walk-in closet, just because I could!
Speaking of breathing, the air down there was absolutely amazing. That seems like a weird thing to say, but when you live in New York and escape the city, you truly do breathe easier. The air is just so much more clean and crisp!
I’ll be sharing more about our adventures exploring the island later this week, as well as some photos of our fabulous home for the weekend! Today, though, it’s all about the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament.
Hallie and I woke up early on Friday morning to get ready for a little TV appearance on WTOC, live from the tournament at Harbour Town Golf Links at the Sea Pines Resort. (You can watch the clip here!) After we were done chatting with Tim & Jody, we made our way into the tournament for some golf, photobooth fun, and southern cooking! We watched a few rounds from Doc’s BBQ on the 15th hole, which was a lot of fun — great food and an even better view. After lunch, we wandered around the course and made our way to the lighthouse at Harbour Town Marina. The striped lighthouse matched my striped dress so we thought it would be a perfect photo opp!
The RBC Heritage is a golf tournament where PGA players compete for the coveted “plaid jacket.” The tournament is known for it’s fun, family-friendly atmosphere, and over the last few years, it’s been known for it’s fashion, too! RBC Heritage-goers were decked out in their finest sun dresses, Lilly Pulitzer, plaid, and Vineyard Vines. Naturally, I loved it since I’ve always had a bit of a penchant for southern style. Since I was born and raised in Illinois, I’m no Southern Belle, but a girl can dream, right?
I took over the @VisitHiltonHead Instagram account while I was at the tournament on Friday, Grace took it over on Saturday, and Caitlin took over on Sunday. You can see all of our photos here!
Have you ever been to the RBC Heritage? Would love to hear!
