Sushi, Sunset, & Sailboat

One of Matt’s birthday gifts was a semi-private sunset sailing cruise on Lake Michigan. It was such a fun experience! We went to sushi after work then grabbed some wine and headed to Belmont Harbor to board the sailboat. I had never actually been on the lake before. I’ve been to the beach plenty of times, but never out on the water. I planned it on a Wednesday so we could see the Navy Pier fireworks, which was really cool. We were on the boat with the captain (“Captain Steve”) and six other people. Here are some pictures from the night…

Being out on the water did NOTHING for my hair. #WHATUPFRIZZ

^^ These are my FAVORITE type of fireworks. ADORE. I mean, they’re gold and they sparkle, of course I love them. ๐Ÿ™‚

This post was almost non-existent because I thought the cruise started at 8:30. Oh no, it was at 8. And we realized this at 7:40. Thankfully we made it by 8:03 or Captain Steve was going to leave without us… Oops!

The skyline and the lake are definitely among Chicago’s best attractions!
