Black on Black on Black

by Jessica Sturdy on November 30, 2013

Black on Black on Black. I guess I’m dressing for the occasion by rocking a predominately black outfit during Black Weekend. (I mean, really, can we even call it Black Friday anymore? #salesfordays #notcomplaining) Until this fall, I haven’t had a pair of black jeans for a few years. And now that I’ve got three pairs (or is it four?), I have to tell myself to switch it up each morning when I reach for a pair of black skinnies. They’re just so easy! Whenever I’m wearing black, I tend to reach for red and gray accents. (Proof.) It’s a bit of a change from my typically more preppy style, but I kind of like it. How New York of me!

Also, make sure you check back here on Monday because Hallie & I have a little holiday surprise for you! See her hint here!

Express Leather-Sleeved Coat (also loving this one!) | Joe’s Jeans Red Suede Jacket (similar here & here) | Old Navy Sweater | Express Men’s Plaid Scarf | J Brand Jeans | Express Booties | Joelle Hawkens by Treesje Bag c/o | Sunglasses | Capwell + Co Ring

Love the outfit! I prefer the red quilted jacket, but I’m partial to colour! Very “New York Chic”.

I love that this is an all black look but the mix of textures and finishes makes it anything but monotonous! And I’m on a hunt for the perfect plaid scarf. I’m loving yours!

I love your layering tricks. Can be hard during the winter but the oversized jacket trend makes it easier. I just got a pendleton car coat that I have been throwing over everything!
