What I Wore Last Week

Fashion and lifestyle blogger Jessica Sturdy of Bows & Sequins shares her daily outfits over the last week.

Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend, friends. And if you celebrate Easter, I hope it was a beautiful day with your friends or family! My Friday was super rough with some personal things, but Saturday and Sunday ended up being pretty great! I had some work on Saturday morning but got to spend the whole afternoon and evening with friends. We had one of my college bestie’s bridal showers in the afternoon, which led right into drinks in the evening and going out for Mexican on Saturday night. Her family was so sweet to invite me to their casual Easter brunch, which was such a nice way to start the day and I ended up taking a super long walk along the lake in the afternoon! The weather in Chicago on Sunday was absolutely gorgeous and got me so excited for the next few months. It’s funny, I think I had almost convinced myself that it would never warm up in Chicago, and Sunday reminded me, like, “Oh wait, we are going to have four months of nice weather heading our way!”

I hope this week treats you well! Here’s some outfit inspiration for a few outfits I wore this past week here in Chicago and in Pittsburgh…

Boden has such great dresses for work. Always really impressed with the quality. Did you add the skull & cross bones “soul” to the Lulu lemon leggings?

Ha, no I did not add that myself! (Pretty sure that would be copyright infringement 😉 ) SoulCycle does a ton of retail collaborations with the brands we know and love… Lululemon, Spiritual Gangster, Nike, The Upside, etc.

This is an old pair that’s not currently available (it’s literally just a logo screen-printed onto the Wunder Under leggings) but they have other styles out now: https://www.soul-cycle.com/shop/

FYI: There’s always so many more styles in the studio, too! Only a small fraction of their product is offered online. xx

I love seeing what bloggers wear every day vs. what they wear when shooting outfits!

When you say WFH, does this mean B&S now has an office we haven’t heard about? 😉

Haha, nope, that just means I didn’t have any meetings or events out of the house so I was workin’ in my athleisure all day long. 😉

I’m so glad you found Boden! In my mind, they’re like the British version of the old J.Crew. Such fun, playful brand! And this striped dress is even better in person, I swear! I’m obsessed.

    Hey Jessica,
Off topic from this post, but I listened to your episode on Kate’s podcast today and just wanted to say how much I appreciate your openness about the challenge of being self-employed. (Both!) It was a helpful reminder to not play the comparison game because everyone has a behind-the-scenes I can’t see. Even though I’m in a different industry and at a different stage of life, I found it very relevant. Thank you for your transparency! <3 I love your style and I wish you all the best with the podcast!

      Hi Lydia,

Thank you so much for tracking me down and taking the time to leave such a nice comment! I just finished listening to the episode myself (It’s kind of funny, I had forgotten so much of what we talked about because we recorded for my podcast right after) and I’m glad to hear it was helpful. I catch myself playing the comparison game, too, even when I’m living the behind-the-scenes. Like Kate said, I never want to come across as a complainer by any stretch, but I do think it’s important to be transparent. Thanks again for the well wishes, it really means a lot!
