Summer Stripes || Skirt Set

The matching top and skirt set is a look I probably won’t be sick of anytime soon! Most of the time, it actually looks like you’re wearing a dress, but it’s so easy to mix and match the two pieces with other staples in your wardrobe. This striped skirt, for example, looks great paired with a cream-colored cable sweater on chillier summer evenings, and I’ve worn this tie-front crop top with a pair of white high-waisted shorts, too.

This little crop top and drop-waist skirt number is the perfect flirty party look. A natural bag (or even a straw tote) and flat slides keep it kind of casual, don’t you think? I love the mix of the classic color and stripes with the ruffled hem, and just a little bit of edge with the barely-there top. (It’s basically just a piece of fabric with arm holes that you can tie yourself!)

I’ve mentioned Fame and Partners on the blog before, but it’s one of the best sites to find unique pieces that fit really well. You can customize so many different features, too… Hem length, sleeves, necklines, etc! This skirt is also available in a long maxi length that’s gorgeous, but I figured I’d get more use out of it with it being on the shorter side.

I almost wore this outfit to the Malibu event in New York last week, but it wasn’t quite warm enough on the rooftop. And the wind… Not a good idea with a ruffled mini skirt. Good thing I brought a backup plan! Can’t wait to re-wear it for get-togethers this summer.

I love how this outfit feels very East Coast… Maybe I’ll pull it out again in the Hamptons later this summer if it’s warm enough. Until then, I’ll just be here in Chicago seeking out hydrangeas and blue and white homes with a preppy, coastal vibe… 😂
