Must Have: The Blazer

As most of my readers know, I have a not-so-slight obsession with fall. Cooler temperatures, football, fall fashion, the changing of the leaves, pumpkin-flavored anything (especially coffee and cupcakes!); the list goes on and on… The back-to-school season has always excited me. School supply shopping was probably the highlight of my entire summer growing up. Hey, I grew up in a town of 3,000… Can you blame me?? My excitement for heading back to college in the fall was immeasurable each and every year. Getting to decorate a new place and having a fresh start always kept things from getting stale. Although I may not be going back to school this fall (tear), I have many friends who are embarking on grad school and lots of readers who are starting a new year of school, too. In a sense, with my recent move to New York City and starting a new job a few weeks ago, I, too, feel like I am starting fresh, just like the rest of the back-to-school-ers.

Schick® Quattro for Women® Disposables is announcing their Back-to-School Savings campaign for the fall 2012 season. In addition to the Schick® coupon on their Facebook page, Schick® is partnering with me, Bows & Sequins, to share my must-have items to rock back-to-school style! Each week, you will have the chance to win one of my four stylish picks!

Since fashion is on the forefront of Bows & Sequins, let’s start with my must-have item when it comes to fall fashion… The Blazer!

I’ve mentioned my love for blazers countless times and obviously a blazer is a versatile piece each and every season. To have a little bit more fun with the blazer this fall, I encourage you to find blazers with some flair! I’m loving blazers with leather accents, like the one pictured above, and printed patterns, such as florals and polka dots. If you want to ease your way away from the black blazers, try a simple colored blazer! A burgundy, ox-blood color would be a perfect colored blazer for this season, as it is one of the hottest colors. And in my humble opinion, you can never go wrong with a dark green or a navy!

Tell me, what blazers and jackets do you have your eyes on this fall?

Be sure to head on over to the Schick Quattro for Women Facebook page to enter to win this blazer!

PS – If you’re not one to play against the odds, you can purchase the blazer here, here or here!

This post is brought to you by Schick® Quattro for Women® Disposables. As always, all opinions are my own.

Loving this new series – such a great idea! You know I am obsessed with blazers & have them in almost every color/print at this point. Just bought one at F21 on clearance that’s similar to this BB Dakota one, except mine is forest green (and only cost $15!).

I just bought a camel colored blazer at H&M. It’s knit, so I can scrunch the sleeves up easily, which will be perfect for the weather here in Texas. I would LOVE to have an oxblood color too though!

I love blazers. Definitely one of my fall/winter favorites. I have a few blazers, but none in this burgundy. I really want some dark fall colors to add to my wardrobe.
