My obsession with leopard is a little over the top so it’s no surprise my IFB Conference outfit featured my J.Crew leopard-print shirt. I had been creating the look in my head for a few weeks but didn’t actually try it on until the night before I left. Sometimes when I’m envisioning an outfit in my head it either totally works or totally sucks when I put it on. Thank goodness it worked!
I’ve been dying to wear these leather shorts I picked up in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Like I mentioned in my fall trends post, I wanted to incorporate some leather into my wardrobe this fall. What better place to break out the leather shorts than NYC?
The animal print and leather combination can look a little tough, so I made the outfit a little more girly with lots of gold jewelry, a necklace with pearls, and suede wedges (my beloved Sam Edelman Javi pair). When I purchased these wedges, I had NO idea how much I would wear them. I’ve worn them constantly this summer (here, here, here, here, and here) and I know I’ll be wearing them for the better part of fall, too!
I NEVER wear lip color! I’ve always been too scared. I purchased two colors a couple of months ago, but have been too much of a chicken to wear them. I made myself get over it and just wear it in NYC and I LOVED it. Newly converted lip stick wearer, right here!
I wore my cloche hat to the conference to keep my hair dry and frizz-free under my umbrella. Wednesday night after the conference I swapped the leather shorts for skinny jeans, the wedges for black and gold Tory Burch flats, and added a black cashmere wrap. I couldn’t get a picture of this outfit because it wouldn’t stop raining and I was too exhausted to find a place for photos. My apologies!
