Skirt + Shirts

by Jessica Sturdy on February 1, 2013

Here I go, wearing black & white again! I’m glad this combo is a big trend for spring because I’ve been wearing it quite often!

I wore this outfit a week ago when it was frigid in NYC! (Hey, at least I was fully covered!) The double shirt look was solely for survival purposes!

J.Crew White Shirt / J.Crew Black & White Gingham Shirt / LOFT Lace Skirt (old — similar here & here) / J.Crew Tights / Vince Camuto Black Leather Booties / Essie Snap Happy / Sequin Zebra Bangle / Sequin Insect Wing Bangle

Thanks for taking my pictures, Alyssa!

I think you may have finally convinced me to try this double-shirt layering look. Also I love those booties…are they comfy?

Jessica Sturdy February 1, 2013 at 10:55 am

Yes! There’s a platform so they definitely don’t seem as tall as they are!

I have a shirt just like this, and would never have thought of dressing it up! Also loving the double shirt – you’ve done it in a subtle way that isn’t too trendy. Very cute!

I just ordered a mini skirt like that! Will have to try the double layering, mostly because it is freeezzzing here! : )

This double-shirt look is the best one I’ve seen yet!

Tried to buy those shoes but they were out of my size! I’m truly sad about this as I’ve been on a seemingly never ending search to replace my black booties.

LOVE the booties. I have the same brand but slightly different and I declared them my most comfortable go-out shoes! Bought mine at Piperlime.
I’ve only been following your blog about 2 months but I love it. It inspires me everyday. Will you consider a segment that your readers send a pic with an item in their closet and ask “What do I do with this/How do I wear it?” :)

Such a cute look (I’m a sucker for a monochromatic ensemble) – and your booties are amazing!!

This outfit is so great…love the graphic contrast of black & white. And the gingham shirt layered with a solid white one? Genius! Fabulous look!

I’m loving the black tights/black boots combo, it makes your legs look miles long! Cute look.

I adore this look! That black & white gingham shirt is great–I love the graphic-ness (is that a word? Haha!) of this outfit, and I really want that shirt!
