I‘m constantly on the hunt for cute little places around Chicago. Whether it’s a boutique, a coffee shop, a place to grab a quite bite, or somewhere for a nightcap, it’s been fun exploring new-to-me spots in the city! I remember my friends visiting after I had only lived in New York for about two months and I remember feeling so anxious about not knowing that many cool spots to take them. I’ve kind of felt the same way since moving to Chicago in July… I’m still a newbie! … But I’m slowly building up my list of favorite spots. My amazing photographer, Melissa, introduced me to this coffee shop that feels like it’s straight out of Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley! A brick-paved sidewalk, twinkly lights, and a coffee sign… It’s an Instagram waiting to happen. The coffee was really good, too! Definitely add Asado Coffee to your list if you haven’t been.
When I’m keeping it casual for a quick meeting or coffee date, throwing a blazer over a crisp white shirt and a pair of jeans is my natural instinct. I added patent loafers that look kind of dressed up, but they’re definitely the lazy route compared to heels. Instead of my usual tote, I opted for a leopard-print clutch and, man oh man, it sure felt good to not carry everything but the kitchen sink with me for a few hours. Especially since I work for myself, I feel like I constantly have to have my laptop with me. And then there’s my backup phone charger. And my collection of lipsticks that have found their way to my inside pocket. Approximately 45 packs of gum. Endless receipts (that I really need to start documenting and filing!). You know the situation… My daily tote looks like it exploded inside. I typically tend to only use clutches when I’m “off-duty,” atย night and on the weekends, but let’s try to make this daytime clutch a thing, okay? Our backs and shoulders will thank us!

Pink Champagne Problems

Love the coat, the colour is perfect! And I agree that a clutch is a much needed break from lugging around half my body weight, but sometimes you need an extra hand when you carry them!
