Chunky Knits + Floral Skirts

bb dakota chunky navy sweater, bcbg floral pleated maxi skirt

It was outfit overload in this post, so I figured I’d break it down and give each outfit the spotlight it deserves. (Different photos, of course!)

Remember when I transitioned one of my summer maxi skirts into the fall? You can do the same thing when transitioning from winter to spring! I am so ready to retire my chunky knits, but unfortunately Mother Nature isn’t really on board. (A snow storm on the first day of spring? That’s just torture.)

To keep myself sane and to try to stop wearing the same outfits I’ve been wearing for the last six months, I’ve been trying to incorporate little bits of spring into my winter wardrobe. It was a random high-50’s day when I donned this outfit, but let me tell you — those high 50’s felt HEAVENLY. I think I saw people in shorts that day, but I didn’t even judge. I FEEL YA, GIRL. Let those legs feel the sunshine!

While it will be a few weeks (probably a month or two, realistically) until it’s shorts weather for me, bright colors and floral patternsย will have to try to emulate that bare-leg-high in the mean time.

I paired this pleated floral maxi with a chunky navy sweater, and brought in the greens and yellows from the pattern with my woven necklace. A pair of simple, strappy sandals in a soft, muted blue and aviators with a touch of green top of the look. Springy, seasonally appropriate, and color-coordinated for the win!

Love this! I personally peppered in pastels all winter long, but I love seeing those sandals! It’s pretty how you match the blue and green hues to keep it seasonally appropriate.

Loving the colorful print of this skirt! Maxis are the best because you can still dress for spring but stay warm, too.

This is so cute! I have to be honest – I never think about mixing chunky knits with springtime pieces. It’s usually either/or for me! This post definitely convinced me to try it sometime soon.

(I love those colors on you too!)
