The Gift of Time

By this point, I think it’s pretty evident that I’m a bit of a watch “collector.” The term collector being used lightly, as I’m mainly referring to the fact that I have a lot of watches and I keep buying more. I wear a watch every single day and on those rare days that I forget, I’m constantly glancing at my wrist for the time. See? Not just for fashion purposes either.

I know Valentine’s Day is typically associated with buying jewelry, but I feel like that is just so cliche. Don’t get me wrong — I definitely would not turn down a Cartier Love Bracelet, anything Yurman, or an Hermes bangle (or 2). Ever. (Take notes, boys.) But when it comes to Valentine’s Day presents, I feel like there are other routes to take.

Personally, I always love the idea of gifting a watch for a special occasion. It’s a gift that’s timeless and truly caters to a person’s individual style. You can choose how much you want to spend, and it’s something that he or she will wear and actually use every single day. I still remember exactly which watch I received for my high school and college graduations, the first watch I saved up and bought myself, and the list goes on. I mean, I actually still remember (and have) my very first watch… It was Pochahontas from the Disney Store. I’ve also given my brothers and multiple boyfriends watches for holidays and milestones over the years, too. The gift of time… Who can object?

In my typical tomboy fashion lately (Seriously, what has gotten into me?), I’ve actually added 2 mens watches to my collection — this one & this one. I feel like they provide just the right amount of masculinity to my usually girly outfits. It’s all about the juxtaposition, ya’ll.

I love the gunmetal face with the cognac leather band. Super chic. And it matches the elbow patch on my sweater perfectly. 😉

I am also a total watch person – I love them! I love that men’s watches are usually more simple (less bling) and have bigger faces, which I feel suits my minimalist style better. Don’t get me wrong, I do love my crystal-embellished watches too, but the men’s watches are just better for everyday wear. Love yours, it looks great with your outfit from what I can see. xo
