Creature of Habit

When it comes to my beauty routine, I tend to get stuck in my ways. Sure, I love trying out new products, but once I find something that I love, I’m loyal for the long haul. My skincare, makeup, and hair routines have been the same for quite some time and they are simple, too. I know the brands that I like, the shades that I prefer, the formulas that work best for me, etc. I buy my must-have products in bulk and rarely stray from my routine. Hypothetically speaking, I could get ready with my eyes closed at this point. I used to do my experimenting in the lipstick and nail polish categories, but as I’ve gotten older, I’m realizing just how picky I am. Whether it’s a good or a bad thing, I know what I like and I know what I don’t.

I’ve been using the It’s a 10 leave-in treatment for years. Honestly, we’re probably talking since high school. Since I get my hair highlighted every 8 weeks, I am very adamant about keeping it as healthy as possible. Yet, I’m almost always rushing around in the morning and don’t have time for hair masks or anything too intensive. It’s a 10 is perfect for me because I don’t have to worry about multiple products, serums, etc. — just quickly mist and I’m good to go.

When It’s a 10 reached out asking if I wanted to try their whole line, it was a no-brainer. I actually didn’t realize that they had any products beyond their purple and pink bottle that I’ve been buying for years. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there are 5 different formulas … ย Miracle Leave-in Product,ย Miracle Leave-in Plus Keratin, Miracle Leave-in Lite,ย Miracle Leave-in for Blondes, andย Miracle Silk Leave-in. Although I’m usually hesitant to switch things up, I’ve been enjoying trying out the 4 new-to-me formulas. Since I already love the original, it makes experimenting a lot easier!

Are you like me in that you like to stick with your favorites, or do you like to switch it up?

It’s a 10 Haircare products provide exceptional results designed to deliver a combination of 10 benefits โ€“ all in one bottle. Now, through our exclusive professional salon formulas, you canย enjoy shine, moisture balance and healthy movement with just one product. We call it โ€œstrengthย in simplicityโ€ and it will undoubtedly change the way you think about hair care. | Disclosure: Compensation was provided by It’s a 10 via Glam Media. I’ve kept my hair and beauty routine pretty straightforward and simple, but since I’ve gotten a tad bit older I’ve recently switched to all natural products (or as all natural as I can afford) and the payoff has been wonderful. I’m going to have to give It’s A 10 a look over.

Mostly I like to stick with my favorites. Occasionally I will try some other products, but that is usually after I hear a lot of people talking about a product.

I used to be an avid ” It’s a Ten” user as well, probably for about a good 3-4 years. I was recently introduced to “Beauty Protector” through Birchbox, and it made me switch instantly. It did a waaaay better job of leaving my hair shiny and smooth then the It’s a Ten did. I started noticing over the years that the” It’s a Ten” product stopped working for me as well as when I first started using it. I think over time products lose their “Wow-ness” so to speak, and now I’ve become more likely to switch up my hair products, just because there is stuff out there that is better than It’s a Ten (in my opinion), I also use something called Milkshake, its a leave in mousse conditioner, and holy cow, it smells AWESOME and leaves my hair in super healthy condition. Switch things up every now and then, sometimes changes can be good!

Love love love It’s a 10! I have also been using it since high school and I never want to use anything else. I’ve tried other leave-in products but they haven’t been nearly as good. Love reading about your collaborations!

    Hi Jessica,

Love your very pretty, organized vanity! I love the way you organize and decorate. Can you tell me where you got the little black and white or navy blue and white (can’t tell the exact color) Ikat bowl? Love it, it’s so cute! Thanks!

I would love to have a set routine, but I’m still trying to find products the really work. I’ve recently switched to the Kiehls skincare products, and I really like them, but every few months I find my skin will start breaking out again from whatever product I use; hopefully these ones will work! I used the Redkins All Soft shampoo for years, but I got bored of it. I’ll give the It’s a 10 line a try, though!

I’ve used the Covergirl Lashblast Volume In the big fat orange tube since I was in high school. I’ve tried other mascaras but nothing has compared so I’ve just given up. I’ve come to the conclusion that it is the best drug store mascara on the market.
