Holiday Haze

Spending Thanksgiving weekend in the city was kind of nice. It was a relaxing little break before the holiday madness kicked off in full swing. On Thanksgiving Day, I had a pretty low key agenda… Went to SoulCycle (natch), tried to see some of the Macy’s parade (major fail.. worst idea I’ve had in a while), met up with Rose for some coffee, and then went home and ate the majority of a large pizza (second worst idea I’ve had in a while). Minus the poor decisions, it was nice to just decompress and wander around a seemingly empty city.

Thank goodness I did try to force a little relaxation last weekend because this week was kind of a doozy! (Apologies for being MIA!) Any tranquility that I instilled back into my life & apartment last weekend was out the window by, like, Tuesday this week. I couldn’t be happier that it’s finally the weekend! My goal is to try and catch my breath.

I had a lot of my plate at work this week, evidenced by the all-nighter I pulled at work on Tuesday night. (Got home as the sun was rising on Wednesday morning. Yolo?) Other than the lack of sleep and a jam-packed to-do list, my apartment is in a state of distress. And when my apartment is a mess, I feel like my life is a mess. There are boxes everywhere from Black Friday & Cyber Monday deliveries.. Clothes strewn all over the floor from way too many last minute shoots.. Heaping piles of laundry because I haven’t found time to go to the cleaners.. Shoes literally everywhere because there’s just no place to put them.. I don’t have a single grocery item in my refrigerator, unless Sauvignon Blanc or 15 different kinds of pumpkin beer counts. Oh, and my bed has basically turned into a twin because I’ve apparently moved my desk into my bed. I’ve been sharing my bed with my 2 computers, a few magazines, my planner, a few notebooks, and all of my random scraps of paper with notes jotted down. There are probably a few pens in here somewhere, too. It ain’t pretty, guys. Definitely having one of those weeks where I feel claustrophobic in my own skin. #NYCproblems #HOTMESS

Here’s to getting my shit together this weekend… Wish me luck!

Good luck with the life organisation! I’m doing the same thing this weekend or I might die under piles of Christmas presents and work files in my apartment.

Love those sunnies on you, they’re adorable.

I love your jeans! How do they fit? I’ve been thinking of getting the Kensington or Plymouth wash myself – but afraid they won’t fit me well since I’m only 5’1!! They look great on you. Do you recommend sizing up? Thanks!

Ummm I DEFINITELY felt the same way this past week. Luckily, the only items I have to bring home are a laptop and school files, but my desk at work was insane. The holidays are great but sometimes the madness upon returning barely makes it worth it… Hope you got everything settled this weekend! If it’s any consolation, I love this outfit! You look fantastic!

    Love this look! So cute…
I know exactly what you mean- I spend most weekends making our place practically look like a show home and then by Thursday it’s a complete mess! It took even longer this week trying to put up the Christmas decorations too!
