Spending Thanksgiving solo in the city this year (more on that here) gave me plenty of time to reflect about all of the things I have to be thankful for this year. My supportive family, a job that I’m truly passionate about at a great company, all of the amazing opportunities this blog has granted me, you (thank you so much for being on this blogging journey with me!), and perhaps most significantly — my closest friends. I spent the weekend before Thanksgiving in Chicago (more on that to come!) with my best friends from college and I had a few moments — usually after a gut wrenching laugh — where I realized how lucky I am to have a group of friends that is still just as close post-grad. No matter how many months pass between my trips back to Chicago, things always pick back up right where they left off. I feel like living in New York, especially, where almost everyone is a transplant, your friends truly become your family. I mean, Hallie is my emergency contact, but that’s a horse of a different color.
Not to get all sappy on ya, but I don’t know what I would do in New York without Hallie. Honestly, it’s hard for me to even remember what that was like for the 9 months I lived here before she did. I feel so lucky to have a Partner in Crime in this crazy concrete jungle. At times, it’s a bit terrifying how we’ve begun to text each other the same thing at the same time, say the same thing at the same time, show up wearing almost the same thing, etc. #OntheSamePage
So when Joelle Hawkens reached out to us to pick out a bag to style on our blogs, it’s really no surprise that we picked out the same one. Different colors, at least!
Don’t forget to enter Hallie’s giveaway, too!
