Summertime Soirees

Last week, I was lucky enough to have two events to attend at the swanky Mondrian Hotel in Soho! The first was a fun little birthday bash thrown by Vineyard Vines for Mr.Freddy Rodriguez. Hallie & I got to see the sun set over Manhattan, as compared to the weekend before when we saw it rise over the city. (Remember this?) Seriously, how gorgeous is the view from the Mondrian rooftop?! And this is just one side. It spans all the way around!

The next night, we were supposed to be back up on the rooftop, but the weather gods didn’t want our lives to be that amazing. We got rained off of the roof so the Stella Artois Cidre launch party was moved downstairs to Mister H. I can’t complain, though, because we got to sip on Cidre all night, nibble our fair share (and then some) from the cheese bar, and snack on delicious appetizers as they were walked around.

What is Cidre, you ask? It’s Stella Artois’ new cider made with hand-picked apples. I’ve long been a cider lover (my college girlfriends can vouch!) and this Cidre definitely did not disappoint! I usually prefer dry ciders and was worried this one would be too sweet, but it was nothing of the sort. The perfect amount of crispness to cool off on a sticky summer evening! Another note worth keeping in mind.. The Cidre is gluten-free and has less than 200 calories. 170 to be exact!

Even though summer feels like it’s on the way out (hello cool temperatures in NYC!), hopefully we’ll all be able to squeeze in a few more fetes before Mother Nature takes her course and summer fades to fall. I’ve (hopefully) got one more weekend away and then my girlfriends from Chicago are visiting over Labor Day Weekend to celebrate my birthday. Fashion Week starts the following Thursday and I have a feeling fall will be in full from there on out.

Cheers to squeezing every little drop of summer out of these next few weeks! Let’s make it count. 🙂

I’m a cider lover too, since I’m a bit of a baby about beer 🙂 Glad to see there is a new option out there, I’m excited to try!
