No Fry Friday

What the HECK is going on with Instagram?! If you haven’t heard the news… They “disabled” a bunch of accounts for “violating their terms of service.” Unfortunately, mine was one of them. I guess the jokes on me for saying that Instagram was my favorite social media channel earlier today! I mean, I think we can all agree that I wasn’t posting anything too crazy or spamming anyone, so hopefully it’s just a glitch that will get worked out in the coming days! #wishfulthinking UPDATE: IT’S FIXED!!ย ๐Ÿ™‚

ANYWAY — It’s a good thing my Twitter account didn’t get deleted because I’m co-hosting a little Twitter Chat tomorrow with Eucerin!

What is No Fry Friday? Since Memorial Day is commonly considered to be the unofficial start to the summer, the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention declared that the Friday before Memorial Day be called ‘Don’t Fry Day.” The goal is to promote sun safety awareness and encourage people to practice safe sun while outdoors this weekend, and beyond!

I hope you can join in on the conversation tomorrow at 12pm EST with me. We’ll be chatting about fashionable ways to protect yourself from the sun! It should be a lot of fun, so hopefully you can tune in! ๐Ÿ™‚

Did you know that May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month? With more than two million people diagnosed annually, skin cancer is the most common of all cancers, but it is also the most preventable. This hits very close to home because my mom is a Stage 2 Melanoma survivor! It was actually me that said, “Mom, that mole on your arm looks kind of weird lately..”

Eucerin is asking you to show your commitment to putting the health of your Skin First by taking theirย Skin First Pledge. In doing so, you will receive a sample of one of their SPF moisturizers, just in time for summer!

Eucerinย Daily Protection SPF 15 Moisturizing Body Lotionย โ€“ Helps protect skin from daily sun exposure with a lotion specifically formulated to moisturize and protect. This light, fast-absorbing formula with SPF 15 sunscreen provides 24-hour moisture and helpsย defend against sunburn.

Eucerinย Daily Protection SPF 30 Moisturizing Face Lotionย โ€“ This lightweight, gentle broad spectrum SPF 30 formula with UVA/UVB sunscreens including zinc oxide and titanium dioxide helps defend against long-term sun damage and also provides effective moisturization.

Disclosure: As a part of the Eucerin Skin First Network, products were sent to me for review. All opinions are my own. Obviously!ย ;)

There is just about nothing in this world I’m more passionate about than adequate sun care! For one thing, I’m acutely aware of the aging effects to my skin & I want to avoid as much of them as possible. Also, lifeguarding for 7 years kind of threw me under the bus and I know I’ll get skin cancer eventually, I just hope I catch it fast!! I put on SPF 55+ every single morning on my face & neck. It could not be more important!

I just had my second run in with melanoma… I’m only 24. I think this is an awesome thing to post, and I hope girls will understand skin cancer should be taken seriously.

I’ve had two pre-cancerous moles removed and I get screened every six months to make sure nothing else has popped up. Watch your moles/freckles, wear sunscreen and love your skin! Thank you so much for posting about this!! : )

Skin care, especially when it comes to sunscreen, etc, is something I’m SO bad at! I’m always forgetting to apply sunscreen, and I’ve gotten some pretty nasty burns in the past! Definitely something I need to work on, can’t wait to tune in for your talk.

Skin care and cancer awareness is SO important to me since my sister is a melanoma survivor, I am so glad to see bloggers are speaking up about this! Will definitely be tuning in!
