Plaid & Polka Dots

by Jessica Sturdy on March 12, 2013

Sunday is meant for two things in New York… Brunch & Sunday Funday. Hallie and I were on our way to Lobster Joint when we got a tempting offer to partake in some Sunday Funday festivities… The IU / Michigan game at one of the city’s IU bars, Traffic. So much for a bloody mary and a lobster roll, Coors Light it is! (#yolo?) While I’m not the biggest fan of either team (#illini), I always support the Big Ten and it ended up being a fun game to watch!

J.Crew Polka Dot Sequin Tee / J.Crew Plaid Shirt (old, similar spring style) / J Brand Jeans / J.Crew Mary Jane Pumps (similar) / Nordstrom BP Bag / Michael Kors Watch / gifted See Song Designs Bracelet / Sequin Bangle / Nordstrom Earrings (old, similar here) / Lips: Illamasqua Mistress / Nails: Essie Mint Candy Apple

Thanks for the photos, Hallie!

I was looking at bovines in Indiana and didn’t watch the game. So I didn’t fully ‘get’ your text. But I later saw highlights and got the gist.

Love this pairing – it’s weekend casual but totally polished :)

I have the J.Crew sequin polka dot shirt (and love it) but never thought to pair it with a plaid button-down! What a great idea, and great inspiration. :)

You look adorable–and I love your version of Sunday Funday (and brunch is just the best, right?!). I always wished my college had a big sports team, but we didn’t really!

Dying over the comment from your dad. Hilarious! My daddy reads my blog (only because I signed him up for email notifications) and every now and then I get a reply email, usually regarding a food post. Typical.

I love the plaid & polka dots! The green bag really ties the look together. Cute :)

It’s the same here in Maryland, on Sunday’s we do brunch somewhere. Nice combination between the polka dots and plaid, and of course the green handbag adds a “lady like” touch….

I’m gonna have to check out that IU bar. I didn’t go there but I did live in Indy for most of my life, so that’s reason enough to go, right?! haha

This outfit looks like the perfect mix of of fun and casual!
