Just like navy & black, black & brown is one of those fictitious rules. Wear the two colors together, and wear them often!
After I got dressed on this particular morning, I wanted to grab a pink clutch and run out the door. Pink would be the perfect pop of color for this leopard, brown, and black outfit!
When I opened up my tub of clutches under my bed and realized I don’t have a pink clutch, I’m pretty sure I mumbled something along the lines of, “How in the F*CK do I not have a pink clutch?” There are times that I have these WTF moments about my wardrobe and think that I am a bad shopper. Certain key items that I NEED to have. Like realizing I don’t have a pair of leopard pumps. I have leopard booties and leopard flats out the actual you-know-what, but no pumps. Guess I have an excuse to shop??
Anyway, grabbed the next best pop-of-color-clutch in my tub… Mint.
J.Crew Leopard Shirt / Gibson Tweed Blazer / Gap Skinny Pants / Ann Taylor Glitter Heels
Coach Watch (OLD, like high-school-graduation-present-old, but they still make it! That’s what I call a Classic! Now they make it in gold, too!)
J.Crew Link Bracelet / gifted Sequin Necklace (new for spring! bracelet version here, necklace should be available soon!) / ASOS Mint Clutch (similar)
Thanks for always taking my pictures, Tracy!

Love this look! Black and brown/tan is one of my fave combos. I feel like the resurgence of leopard print has revolutionized the whole black/brown thing. Also – those shoes are too awesome!
love those heels on you! xo

LOVE this outfit…the combination of leopard, brown and mint looks great! I have those WTF moments in my closet a lot…when you envision something looking so great but then one piece is missing! I’m always looking for an excuse to shop 🙂
Love this outfit, especially the blazer and the shoes. I hate when that happens, you think you have something and you realize you don’t. It sucks. Hope you find a great pink clutch.
If you get a chance, check out my 30 in 30 post.

This is one of my favorite outfits of yours that I’ve seen lately! Totally going to pin it and then stalk the J. Crew website in the hopes that the shirt comes back in stock. I had it on my wishlist for the holidays but it had already sold out, I guess. Bummer!
love the shoes and that blazer! i love shoes with a chunkier heel, they are way more comfortable!

Such a gorgeous tailored blazer. I love the fabric!
This outfit is so great!
Love. This. Color. Combo! I do agree that a pink clutch might’ve “popped” more – but haven’t we ALL had those WTF I DON’T OWN THAT?! moments whilst dressing ourselves in the morning? I think so 😉
Your shoes are so cute! I also love your blazer. Very cute outfit.

I’ve really been trying to embrace the black and brown lately – I really like the different shades of your outfit. And the mint clutch is the perfect pop of color!
Black & brown together always scares me but you pull it off so well! Love that jacket & those shoes! The “old school” Coach watch is adorable too.

I am in LOVE with those shoes!
Stunning outfit, especially those shoes!

agreeeeeee agree agree! my most versatile boots are black and brown. they allow you to make bolder or at the very least, less monochromatic choices especially in the accessories dept.

HAHA I literally had a similar thought the other day except it was for a pair of nude pumps. I guess I online “shop” so much i swore I ordered a pair.
P.S. you’re not alone with the swearing… I literally have to make a conscious effort not to swear on my blog every day
I just stumbled across your blog and I had to leave a comment to let you know how much I love all of your style. You are amazingly chic.
What do you mean you realized you don’t have leopard pumps? What about your J.Renee ones with the sweet bow you posted about for Thanksgiving, if I remember correctly? I thought those were adorable!
Yes, I do have those. But those aren’t a true leopard print, in my opinion. I also prefer leopard print shoes to be calf-hair. 🙂
I hear you about the calf-hair. They fit the brown & black bill nicely, though!
The glitter heels are to die for! I don’t have a pair of leopard shoes at all, I’m so ready to invest.

those shoes are to die for, love the pop of mint, even though you didn’t have pink I think it looks great!

LOVE those pumps! So fun. How do you not have a pink clutch? I would have dropped an F bomb too. I jumped on the hot pink Kate Spade bag when the Bryce Dallas Howard ad campaign came out.
This is such a classic look and those shoes are definitely a fun added touch. Love this look!

I love your blazer! I have been looking for a great timeless one like that! How do you like the fit of it?

I love the fit of these Gibson blazers! I have two of them. I like the cutaway lines in the front and the longer length in the back!
I hate when I have those moments. Sadly they happen all too often!!
The shoes are beyond amazing!
Love this look – so chic!

I used to hate black/brown and black/navy combos. But I totally love black and brown together now! Love this look. And good luck with the pink clutch search!

Ooh, looove those glitter colorblock pumps! Also love black + brown together. It’s the only way I can wear black without feeling too goth with my pale skin, haha!
I feel like the resurgence of leopard print has revolutionized the whole black/brown thing.

So wonderful!
I am looking all over for that J Crew blouse. I have begged J Crew to re issue it.
Jessica, please keep styling it for us on your blog. Once more please?
I hope too J Crew will get the picture that this shirt needs a revival!
Love your look,
On the hunt.
